I purchased this book on July 8, 2014 in preparation for Penned Con. I started reading it and then for some reason I set it aside. I am so sorry I let this book languish on my Kindle because I throughly enjoyed this book.
I love how Hargrove highlights the world of reviewers and book cons. There are average readers, who will read a book and maybe recommend the book to someone. Then there are the Bookworms, who live and breathe books. We review books on amy site possible (maybe we even have our own blog ), we shamelessly promote books via social media or word of mouth, we join street teams, .we save our money to meet our favorite authors and get signed books, and just maybe we become friends with the authors we adore. For those who aren't aware of the book community, Hargrove 's description of this seems farfetched.
Ryland Thomas was a bit of a jerk in this book. There were times I wanted to thump him on his head for his behavior. He kept pushing Fallon away all because of his stupid ex. Then when he finally realizes how much he does love Fallon, he has to beg for her forgiveness.
Fallon is such a strong character in this book. She is a true fighter. Nothing gets her down. She might wallow in her misery for a bit but she comes back swinging.
The book 's title refers to several betrayals that occur throughout the plot. I can't say what happens without spoiling things. Hargrove does a great job of keeping the twists coming. Just when you think all is well something else happens.
I really enjoyed this new to me author. If this book is any indication of her other works, I will be doing some serious one clicking. Anyone who enjoys romance should definitely give this book a read.
"Fallon, don't be embarrassed about starting your period."
My breath rushes between my thinned lips. "It's not my period, Ryland. It was my effing virginity."
And you do not want a pi**ed off Fallon, I mean Ryland was kind of an idiot for leaving her in that position so I'm not feeling sorry for him at all, "right. So you pull out and leave me alone, in the shower. Yeah, that was romantic all right." But that's okay because Fallon affects Ryland all the time, "Fallon. Christ, I can't even tickle you without getting stiff." And once again Ryland effs up where Fallon is concerned, "you ignored me in front of her. You acted like I was your afterthought, just a casual someone you happened upon, and it killed me. It's still killing me. Do you want her, Ryland Thomas?" I loved this book!
