Product Description

Singing Bowls are one of the ancient Tibetan meditation tools. The pure sounds produced when the rim is rubbed by the mallet is said to put the brain into a meditative state. The vibrations of the singing bowls have the same wavelength found in the brainwaves that produce feelings of relaxation. Today they are employed worldwide both within and without these spiritual traditions, for meditation, trance-induction, relaxation, healthcare, personal well-being and religious practice. The bowls are handmade in Nepal, and are made of Panchaloga: literally translated from Sanskrit as Five Metals: the metal alloys contain copper, tin, zinc, iron and other metals. These bowls are hand made and etched, therefore the bowl you receive may not be identical to the one pictured on the product picture.

Mine has come with a cushion as well. It is so beautiful both in looks and sound that I can almost believe that the sound of a bell can expel evil spirits - if there is such thing. I want to thank whoever handcrafted this with such craftmanship and probably also with holy mind. I'm also glad I can contribute a little bit to Tibet/Nepal this way. Palms together.

After reading all the glowing reviews i was really excited to receive my package, but when i opened it i was very disappointed. Perhaps i just got unlucky, but the bowl i received was not well made.

There were ink blotches all over the clear parts of metal (and they wouldn't clean out), there seemed to be unusual depressions in the inner and outer center, were the bowl was "turned". Therefore, i can not call it beautiful. Definitely not at all suitable for a present.

The sound was very dull and had a lot of rattle to it, as if the bowl was very much out of balance.
No it was not due to poor wooden striker. I used my own to try and see if it made any difference in sound.
I own a few singing bowls (though none in this price range), and never experienced this before as i always picked them up in person. Perhaps it's just not a great idea to buy them online.

In any case, there was one thing i did like about the bowl - it's weight. It was slightly heavier then another bowl i own in similar size.

Again, it is possible i got a "lemon", but this bowl didn't seem to get much love. I'm sorry to say i will be sending it back.

I had this bowl on my wish list; I love the sound of Tibetan singing bowls. My sister bought it for my for my birthday and I couldn't be more pleased. The sound is amazing - soft and resonant. The tone makes me so happy inside.

I received the bowl and striker as advertised on time. However, there was no cushion or Prayer Flag. I know nothing of a satin cushion, and do not believe it was even advertised when I purchased my bowl. The bowl is most satisfactory, very good sound and is being used with a substitute cushion.

This bowl is of the best craftmenship and it sounds awesome. I just love it. It was a perfect addition to my meditation room. The tone and quality can't be beat, especially for the price.

Love love love my new singing bowl! I am new to meditation, and had a teacher friend show me her large Tibetan singing bowl, I had to get one for myself.

It sounds beautiful. The bowl has a peaceful ring to it, and can actually get quite loud! For me, it was extremely easy to get sound out of it- like I said I am new to singing bowls and this is the first one I've ever owned.

The shipping was extremely fast, and it even arrived earlier then it was supposed to. The bowl is small, it perfectly fits in my palm. The painting on the outside and inside is a little messed up (I mean very little), but it is still very beautiful. It comes with a wooden mallet as well. It DOESNT come with the cushion pictured, so just be aware. I had thought it came with it when I initially ordered it-

TIPS FROM ONE NEWBIE TO ANOTHER**

For those having trouble getting it to make sound, it's important to have your palm flat and fingers spread out flat, so it's NOT cupping the bowl. The fingers around the bowl will prevent sound from coming out. Start off slow with the mallet to practice building that sound, and go around the rim.

I got the product in good shape and the bowl is beatiful. The wooden striker is not though, so you may have to find other means to strike the bowl.

I am new to the world of Tibetan Singing Bowls, so I thought this one would be great to start with. The price is great for the piece, and I really am enjoying it so far. The sound is beautiful and I'm practicing the right way round the bowl with the striker. I'm very glad I got this.
