This book was not at all what I was expecting, and I mean that in the very best way. Although I picked up this book some time ago, I hadn't had a chance to read it until recently. I'm sorry I delayed doing so! The characters in this book were extremely well developed, and the plot twists were like nothing I expected. The opening scene with the haunted house? I never saw it coming- I thought it was a dream sequence, or perhaps a really amazingly unique haunted house experience that would turn out to be smoke and mirrors. I never saw it coming, and it was all twists and turns and surprises around every corner from then on.

I loved the Super Market, and cannot wait to learn more from future installments. Special blood wines, spa treatments, all forms of mythological creatures around every bend. It was a pleasure to read, and I reread several passages just to soak it all in thoroughly and picture it in my mind.

The only criticisms I have aren't even actual criticisms, but personal preference. I like that there are clickable links to learn more throughout the story, but my personal preference would be to have them indexed at the end of the story instead of in the middle of the chapters, as it pulled me out of the story as I was reading. And I found the endearments a bit... off-putting, I guess you could say. Definitely not words that would ever come out of my husband's mouth! However, even though they weren't words I personally would choose, they fit the characters that were saying them beautifully.

All in all, an absolutely fabulous story, and I am eagerly awaiting book 2. I can't wait to learn what happens next.

This was different and totally implausible, but highly entertaining which is the reason for 4 stars. There are three sisters who develop this online game which returns into this huge gaming community filled with dragons, vamps, weres, etc. The girls, through tragedy, find out their game reflects the real world and that all these supes really exist and use their game for wonderful (I.e. finding love) and horrible (I.e. trafficking blood slaves) things. They must work with their employees (gamer dudes who help develop the game and software) to rescue family members who are taken in an evil plot to try and take over the world. Here's the implausible part -when they finally all meet in 'real life' for the family-member-saving mission; not one person has a gamers physique.
Of course this ends in a cliff-hanger, who writes books these days without a series in mind? But all in all it was a pretty good book.

Let's face it, Lou Reed would have loved this book.
I enjoyed the coy main character and identified with her fierce determination to protect her loved ones.
It's a relief that the zombie element is nil. THANKFULLY!!! There is an author that understands:: Not everyone wants to read about, nor see ugly dead people all the time. The interplay between the characters is done well. Some books you have to draw a damn diagram to keep track of the story lines of each character.
You can read this book on your home computer via the free kindle download Amazon offers or your smart phone.ipad ect. So mega bonus.
I say worth checking out for sure especially at 3 bux! The rumor is that this is shaping up to be at least a trilogy... Obviously someone will scoop up the rights to this book.
I don't want to be a spoiler so I'll skip the story line but its fun and sexy to read. i had a naughty grin on my face that grew and grew until the last page.

A decedent, velvety read that has it all and more!

It once again grabbed me from the first chapter and had me in its spell until I turned the last page! This book is filled with everything good and what I look for in a book. Great characters, a lot of action, a story line that keeps me reading without stopping, those “OH NO” and hold your breath moments and an ending that makes you want more! This is definitely one to be added to your library if you are looking for an excellent story that is well written and will keep you well entertained!

I can't wait to see if the Ocuinn sister's continue with their online virtual scare world after what all has happened or if they do a career change. Sheridan will be a mother if nothing goes wrong will she and Torch get together,she wants someone who want her for herself not because of her company. what will happen to Dakota will she break free or die or be killed.

Will the sisters get their other sister back, alive and normal? Will the Vampire birth be successful for both Mother and child . Read what started on Halloween and ended on Thanksgiving for a truly unique look on all species of supernatural beings. Oh, there is even a nasty Queen and here horrible niece in the story. Read the book, I think you will enjoy it.

What an opening chapter!!

This novel has a great opening premise three sisters who run a horror based gaming site; Cheyenne is the main narrator however she is scared of all things scary, especially haunted houses! Dakota is her baby sister and basically the wild child. Counter that with Sheridan the older sister, who is the brains of the outfit, stir in lots of love, giggles, a traumatic matriarch death and a kooky father and you have a fabulous set of characters ready to love.

Then the gaming side of things kicks in, but this really gives a good edge to the story chiefly as Cheyenne’s avatar is basically her alter ego who just happens to be in a two year virtual relationship with Roxas, and boy oh boy does he have a whopper of a secret!

I adored the dogs Beano and Stormaggeddon! They do play an integral part in the story in keeping our heroine sane! As for PADME, Cheyenne’s holographic PA system, she is brilliant and I want one, now.

Up until the haunted house chapter it was all quite pleasant and whilst you could feel a gentle build up of potential horror, even if it was just the fancy dress outfits (the ravenous bush had me in stitches) and I was ready and expecting some gore and splatter but then all hell broke loose and I think I fell into a different novel.
The sudden intensity of the writing and sheer horror of what was going on gave me goose bumps but I was now hooked and needed to get through the terror to see if Cheyenne made it out alive.

On a negative note, there was quite a lot of online gaming speak at the beginning and if you are a total non-player like myself, you might get a bit confused; but it soon pans out and you get used the phrases. I totally loved all the little added extras (links to secret pages), almost like secrets, not sure how a print version would cope with that concept but rock on the e-version!

Also, after the haunted house scene there were so many fabulous ideas, new worlds, new characters and such that it was very intense for a little bit in the middle there and could have almost done with some more filler or at least a slower explanation of everything.

However, when Cheyenne finally heals and her new self is revealed from all the scarring and wounds, a whole underworld is opened to her. The real and the virtual world soon integrate to become a novel of hide and go seek with monsters, kidnapped sisters and plots of world domination.

From this point I could not have put the book down had my house been burning down, thankfully it wasn’t, although my hubby had to fend for himself AND feed the cats!

I loved all the snappy telling, pokes of humour, brilliant supernatural characters and adored the romance element and what women doesn’t want a man to rub her feet!

All the other members of the ExsanguiNation gaming company all come with their own little secrets and make for any interesting lunch and day out at the super spa! (and that’s super as in supernatural! Does your dragon need a manicure??).

Riveted until the final words, which bytheway were cruel in their temptation of the next in this series (and I hope it’s a long one!), I found this to be a whirlwind roller coaster ride of fun, surprise and bottom clenching moments.

I thought the reference list at the end was an amazing way to finish as it really gave a little jolt of reminders of special places in the book.

Kilion Slade is a brand new author and wow what a way to start.
