Does not fit 50 amp

I bought this because, according to the description it "Covers extension cords for 30 and 50 amp," and our trailer has a 50-amp cord. This is inaccurate. The slot in the sides is too narrow for my cord, and the box itself too small to fit the connection of the trailer cord and the extension cord. I like the item, but it is too small for our needs.

It's A Cover Only

For some reason I assumed this would be a box that you put your connected cords into for rain protection. It is only a cover, so if the ground gets wet the purpose is defeated. It can also blow away.
Thankfully it has tabs with screw holes so I put my cord connection under the cover and screwed it to a 1 foot square piece of 3/4" plywood.
During a recent tropical storm, this setup kept the connection completely dry.

I thought this was a box to protect the power cord. It is just a plastic cover. Way OVERPRICED for what you get. I could have cut up a plastic milk jug and it would work almost as well. I should have been more diligent in my research of this item.

This is a lot smaller that i though it would be. You can build a better cover with plywood every other year. It does not come with a base you will need to mount this with a hing on some plywood to make use of it. Mine is sitting in the garage now for months. I will probably not use it and i waiting to long to return it.
