Product description

Our simplest talking clock is literally a large talking blue button. The silver colored base of the clock measures 4.35 inches in diameter and the highly visible blue talking button is 3.75 inches wide. Press or tap the button once and it will speak the time in a clear male voice, press it again and it will announce the date, month and day of the week. This clock also has a daily alarm option which you can hear as on or off with a third tap of the big blue button. The large button clock is easy to set, has a hi/lo volume switch and setting button on its underside. Operates on 3 AAA batteries, not included. The volume is also quite loud so this clock is a handy time telling tool for those with hearing impairments. Simplicity at its best!

bad computer generated voice

My mother cannot see well enough to read any clock.
We tried a number of other products and she could not understand the voice (shrill Asian woman, bad computer generated voice, etc)
She understands this perfectly.
Also there are no buttons on top for her to accidentally change settings!
She absolutely loves it.
She has knocked it off of the shelf a couple of times and it still works fine.

He especially likes it when he wakes during the night and knows hears the time loud and clear. The big blue button makes even a person with macular degeneration in both eyes able to tell the time.

Initially my 87 year old mother found if very helpful.The voice is definitely loud set on normal. During the first few weeks of use I would have rated it 5 stars. I didn't notice much of an accent as reported by others. But, my mother has trouble distinguishing between the voice saying AM and PM. And, more importantly, the time falls behind. For example- it should say 8:55 AM and it says 8:40 AM. Can't find any way to correct this slowing down. The item needs to be reset to the correct time every day or so. Will change out the batteries and see if that makes a difference.

Our mother is 98 years young but sadly suffers from macular degeneration and severe hearing problems. She is so happy with her new large button talking clock! She keeps it by her bedside within easy reach. The sound is nice and loud for her. The original one I purchased, the sound quality wasn't as good. I was sent a replacement right away and the replacement is a lot better. The sound quality is perfect for my mom. The voice is a male voice which is very easy for her to hear vs. a female voice which is often too soft. I highly recommend this talking clock! We purchased one for my father-in-law and he loves his talking clock too!

Great Clock for a Person who has limited sight and difficulty pushing buttons

My mother in law had a talking watch but she could not see it very well and put it on upside down sometimes. Then it would not work since she was pressing the wrong button for speech. It also had small buttons and was hard for her to push, even when she had it on her wrist the right way. I bought her one of these large button talking clocks and she loves it. There is only one large button on the top. You CANNOT press the wrong thing. She takes it everywhere in her walker and can now hear the time again. She asked for a second one to keep near the side of her bed, so she now has two. This was the only solution left for her and it works fantastic.

She usually remembers to hit the button on this clock now and listens to the man's voice announce the time. Then she goes back to sleep, instead of getting up and starting to get dressed at some odd hour like 3 a.m. It's also easy to set the time and date, which is a definite plus. Would highly recommend for the elderly.

We got this for my mother in law who is having trouble reading clocks at night. However, due to her poor hearing, she was not able to understand the time. She said it was loud enough, but she could not understand it without her hearing aids ( which she does not wear at night). The product itself worked, but the voice is not clear enough for people with hearing issues.

I would like to give this 5 stars but it goes through batteries very quickly. My mom uses it, checking the time about 3 times a day, and fresh batteries only lasted about 30 days. And then we have to reset all over again. Resetting is easy though, just a hassle.
