I have to admit, I was really reluctant to try this. It arrived, and it sat there for 2 days before I was brave enough to try it. It says to mix with water or a non-carbonated liquid. I figured I would try it in water first because I would easily know if it added texture to my water. It DIDN'T!!! Wow!! I am really picky with my water, and definitely do not like it powdery or gritty, so I am so glad it wasn't! It changed the taste of the water very very slightly (only because I am picky). I also tried it in my beloved coffee, and there was no taste difference there. I had my son try it as well. He said he couldn't taste it until the very end where there was a small clump that didn't get stirred in. I put it in my daughter's water without her knowing. She drank the water and said she couldn't tell a difference when I told her. This seems like an easy way to get more fiber in our diet, and I love that it promotes good gut bacteria. I also love that it is gluten and dairy free.

I've had digestive problems forever now. When the pain hit, I was uncomfortable, frustrated, annoyed, and embarrassed. I just wanted to feel like my old self again. So I decided to do some research and try to get the old me back.

I changed my lifestyle and what I ate. I had heard and read about probiotics and started eating yogurt for breakfast, thinking this was all I needed to do to get my stomach and my health back on track. While researching into gut health and gut bacteria I learned about prebiotics, and how they help nourish the good bacteria already in my system. I decided to try Great Gut to give my gut bacteria the nourishment it needed to be balanced again. I had already tried probiotics and regular fiber I wasn't sure if this would work.

After just three days, the results were amazing! I felt better, less bloated, and had not suffered from the painful stomach cramps that ruined so many of my days for years. I finally had my life back. You should try this too.

Terrific product and company. I’ve been using this prebiotic supplement for about 10 months now and it makes me feel really great and I’m extremely healthy. I love it so much I even got my elderly mother who has stomach issues to start taking it and she says it is definitely helping. I like how it blends several different prebiotic sources into one formula. Most of the other brands it is just one source. Either that or it’s all from food so you have to be more careful with how you store and handle it. I have spoken with Brad the owner personally and he is extremely friendly and helpful. Small Dose, Blends Easily, Little Flavor, and it Works!

I found this product during a search for a fiber supplement that was unflavored and wouldn't turn everything I mixed it with into a gross slimy gel. Great Gut promised easier bowel movements, a healthy gut, no flavor, and easy blending. Plus, you get a good number of servings in the tub.

The Good:
The dose is small. Just a small scoop (1t).
Blends easily, especially into warm beverages, soups, and warn cereals, so you can have fiber in your coffee or tea!
Very little flavor. What is there is a bit sweet, but unnoticeable in most foods.
Bowel movements are definitely better - easier, more formed, more regular.

The Bad:
It doesn't always dissolve well in colder liquids, but is fine in cold yogurts and puddings.

I don't use Great Gut all of the time, as I have a pretty good whole foods diet with tons of fiber, but I use it as needed and it always works, in a very gentle and efficient way.

I have been taking a prebiotic Bimuno for several years. Due to cost I gave this a try and it is just as good.
Probiotics I believe are worthless. They are supposed to go to your intestines and add good bacteria. But how many make it through the acid of the stomach? Few I’d bet. Prebiotics are food for the good bacteria you need to be overall healthy. They got me through a bone marrow transplant in flying colors.
