I really wanted to like this gorgeous toaster. After giving it a couple of weeks to prove itself, the center inside elements in both slots still do not all light, causing uneven toasting. This replaced an $18.00 Black and Decker that did the same thing. So my problem is not solved with this more expensive appliance. It is as if they are made in the same Chinese factory as the cheapie B&D, but with a more beautiful housing and some nice extra features. Too bad.

From a label on the shipping box I believe Hamilton Beach makes this, which is fine, I like their stuff. Build quality on this toaster is great, it has some weight to it and doesn’t feel or sound like a cheap tin box. It looks great on the counter, loved it as an addition to my kitchen.
And then I made toast. As many other reviewers have mentioned, this thing does not toast evenly on both sides of the bread. Wolf says in the manual that it may not look like the elements are toasting, but they are. OK, but they aren’t! I would have happily lived with the uneven toasting, I love the look of the toaster that much, but then I made more toast right after the first batch. I like to make several pieces for when I make chili. Second batch has burnt patches. I paid how much for this?
For the price, I expect form to follow function, but this is not the case here. Very disappointed. Sent it back.

Love the look and stance of this toaster. The bottom tray is well designed and the slots are extra wide. When you use the controls, the quality is apparent. And then there is the iconic red knob…well worth the price and a definitive must for those who collect wolves.
