warranty is a lie

I ordered the collar based on the warranty they say is 100% (see below). In fact, my dog did chew up the plastic part and strap and they are now telling me that it is not covered- only the strap is covered. They were willing to place a new order for me directly (outside of Amazon). For $8 I am not going to lose any sleep but they should be put on notice that the following warranty they put on the description is a lie:

Not Compatible w/Invisible Fence Brand

This collar is very durable and sturdy. It's made very well. However, it is NOT for invisible fence brand collars. There are measurements in the product description, that have the length between the two holes. The length/measurement is inaccurate. We have an invisible fence brand fence for the dogs, the description states it's compatible with only one model, which is the one we have. I measured the holes on my dogs old collar prior to ordering this one. Unfortunately, due to the inaccurate measurements listed on this collar, the control/box (no idea what it's called) wouldn't fit on the new collar. I had to send it back. The return and refund was easy and hassle free. Again, it looks like a great collar, if it will work with your system.

I ordered this color to replace the old beat up original collar that came with our PetSafe wireless fence. Removal from the old collar to this one was very easy. The holes line up perfectly and the collar is narrower than the old one we have. It also has the quick release clasp that I like; the old collar was a buckle type and I was not a fan.

Durable replacement/add on collar for an extreme dog fence

These extreme fence dog collars has held up well, though one of them stopped working after our dog decided she needed to go swimming in the kiddie pool with the kids. The only thing I don't like is that the batteries aren't rechargeable and they are EXPENSIVE! I have switched to buying packs of the LR44 single batteries and using 4 of them in a stack in the collars. A fraction of the cost and the batteries seem to work just find and last 2-3 months (our dogs know where the boundary is so they rarely get close enough to get shocked). As a safety note, there is no LED indicator to tell you the collar is on/working (just for low battery), so I always double check the collars are functional again by holding them by the strap and approaching the fence boundary until they beep.

I have two dogs -- one who has figured out how to climb and get over my 6-foot privacy fence, and a puppy who eats EVERYTHING. When they go outside, the older one has to wear a collar with the receiver for an invisible fence. One day when they'd been out for about 20 minutes, I looked outside and saw the puppy with that collar in his mouth. Well, part of it. The rest was in tiny pieces all over the ground. So I ordered this replacement collar, figured out quickly how easy it was to switch the receiver to it, cut off the extra length, and we were back in business. Not so fast, though. I wasn't smart enough to figure out how to keep the new collar from unraveling where I'd cut it... And so it did in the first day. I contacted the company, sent them a photo of my idiocy, and without question or extra charge, they sent me a new one right away. This one I burned the edge of after I cut it. This company is legit and stands by their product! Highly recommend.

I was concerned when I first ordered the Extreme Fence System. So far I’ve been very pleased, and the brand hasn’t let me down. I use the fence system for over a year now and for three dogs.

The company who makes these systems is called “Perimeter Technologies” and they offer terrific USA based and top-notch customer service. I’ve only experienced one problem in the 18 months I installed the system in August of 2017, and it was probably my own fault. I over-tightened a post and the plastic collar unit stripped. I made one call and received a live person who immediately shipped a new unit. She didn’t even ask me to return the old unit!

I don’t rate products easily, and I save 5 Stars for truly outstanding purchaeee. This was a solid 5.
