I am enjoying this series, except for typos.
The thing is I LOVE series. Jessica just isn't a character that I care about. She just seems whiny and does really stupid things. You will know what I mean when you get 3/4 of the way through the book and find out what she is going to do (after the first book you would have think she would have wised up - nope). It is just dumb. By now this woman would have been canned. There is no way someone like this would ever continue to work in this manner.
I am sorry Robert W. Walker, I love the actual stories and I wish you had NOT made them into a series. I love strong female characters with flaws (which she has but not in a good way or in any way that makes you relate to her). The fact that she is mentioned as being gorgeous and that everyone thinks she is so hot just gets on my nerves - sorry;)
The biggest reason that this book just didn't do it for me is that the killer has made Jessica his target. Why? Why does she always have to be a target. Like every serial killer knows who she is and where she will be. The other reason is that after the first book why in god's name would she leave the rest of her cohorts out of the loop? It is just so dumb (no offense to the author), but it just makes her look idiotic. As I have said in previous reviews I am just sick of her being the smartest & most gorgeous woman alive and there is just tooooooooo much other needless stuff in the book. I never flip pages to get ahead but I really was getting sick of the repetition of earlier cases and this book just moved too slowly for me.
Tis is my first read by this author and I see another kindle book of his is unavailable due to editing issues so maybe this ismthe new norm. I know what the author meant, but errors interrupt the flow and make an otherwise good novel long.
I'm not a writer saying I could do better, I'm a reader pointing this out so it can be corrected.

Dreadful waste of time, unfortunately I'd got another in the series at the same time equally awful!
