Extreme Prejudice: The Terrifying Story of the Patriot Act and the Cover Ups of 9/11 and Iraq Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 547 ratings

New Second Edition

What if the government decided to invent a great lie to justify a disastrous war? What would happen to the people who know the truth? Extreme Prejudice delivers an explosive, high tension expose of the real facts surrounding the CIA's advance warning of 9/11 and an insider's look at Iraqi pre-war intelligence, told by one of the very few US assets covering Iraq before the war. It reveals the depths of deception by leaders in Washington and London to promote a successful image of their terrorism policy, and the shocking brutality to suppress the truth of their failures from Americans and the world community.

I'm especially impressed by this book for two reasons. One, it gives us a wealth of information which only an insider can give us. Second, it gives us a personal account about the terrifying use of the Patriot Act and the abuse of psychiatry in the justice system.

Lindauer was recruited by the CIA and the Defense Intelligence as an asset, specifically as a go-between between the CIA and the Libyan and Iraqi government in order to unofficially negotiate deals through back door channels when these two nations were under sanction and had no official relations with the US. These back door negotiations were never reported in the press, and if it weren't for Lindauer's informing us, we would never know about their existence. Lindauer's account of these back door negotiations is a source of precious information about "what really happened" which, I'm afraid, we will never know about had Lindauer not been here to tell us: for "what really happened" is unfortunately what our government did not want us to know. There are two things in particular.

First, Lindauer tells us about "what really happened" in regard to a stream of past terrorist attacks about which we have been fed with false information by the authority. During her work as the "go-between", her handler and the Middle Eastern diplomats she worked with provided her with insider knowledge about who were really behind the Oklahoma City bombing, the 1993 WTC bombing, and the Pam Am 103 "Lockerbie" bombing. The official stories which our government put out about these attacks were not true. There are a lot of speculations about what really happened with the Oklahoma city bombing, and Lindauer's account must be considered because it is based on the communication of the Iraqi government. What I have a particular interest in is the Pam Am-103 bombing. We are told by our authority that this was the work of the Libyan agent al-Megrah, who was convicted of this crime. Lindauer's CIA handler however revealed to her: "In part, Dr Fuisz explained how the bombing of Pam Am 103 was intended to strike down a team of Defense Intelligence Agents, who were flying back to Washington to protest the CIA's tolerance of heroin smuggling as part of locating the hostages in Beirut" (p. 46). A group of Syrians were hired for the purpose (p. 392). I suggest you compare her statement with what is told in Gordon Thomas' "Gideon's Spies: The Secret History of Mossad" (1999 edition), p. 328. The airline once hired a certain Yuval Aviv, a former Mossad officer, to investigate the matter. The report makes a similar claim: that CIA had a rogue team COREA which was smuggling drug from the Middle East to US, and that US Army major Charles McKee, who was on the Lockerbie flight, planned to expose it. The CIA thus decided to kill him. COREA was working with Al-Kassar who was linked to the Abu Nidal organization and they together loaded up a bomb to the Lockerbie flight when it was transferring in Frankfurt.

Another what for me is enlightening information from this book regards the true personality of some important politicians. We have been accustomed to the image of Collin Powell as an incorruptible politician whom the neocons have pushed aside because he wouldn't play the game of the Bush administration. Lindauer's story has however exposed General Powell as just as much a hypocrite as the others in the neocons' camp. He was fully aware that Iraq probably did not have WMD - if only because Lindauer herself had warned him so - before he went to UN to give his speech, and yet he later complained on national TV that no one in the intelligence community had warned him that this was so. With General Powell's reputation, you would never expect him to lie and put on a show on TV in order to protect himself and the "official story", and yet he did so, and you'll only knowing this from Lindauer's book. Similarly, it is only from this book that you learn that Iraq has fully agreed to cooperate with the international community about letting in weapon inspectors and with the United States about 911 and other terrorism investigations. Yet, knowing this, the Bush administration got on TV to lie that Iraq was uncooperative. Then John McCain got on TV to lie that Mohammed Atta had met with an Iraqi agent even though he knew this was false. It is only by reading Lindauer's story that we learn how politicians otherwise known as respectable can actually lie with a straight face.

Lindauer's story is also proof that foreknowledge of the 911 attacks was widespread in the intelligence community for she herself was warned about it by her handler. Her knowledge about this and the truth of Iraq's willingness to cooperate on everything in order to lift the sanction and avoid being invaded was what got her in trouble with the Republicans. When she requested to testify in Congress about what she knew she was arrested on the Patriot Act under some trumped-up charges as an "unregistered Iraqi agent". The second half of her book then details her impossible struggle with the Patriot Act - where the evidences for her "crime" were kept secret from her and her attorney and where her own attorney was required to collude with the prosecutor to work for her destruction - and with the abuse of psychiatry in the name of justice - where a stream of psychiatrists, supposed experts on what is reality and what is not, colluded with the government to declare reality "delusion" and non-reality reality.

The book is generally well-written, for Lindauer is a skillful creative writer. The only flaw in her style is her tendency to repeat the same piece of information throughout the book. This "flaw" dwarfs, however, in face of what we can learn about "what really happened" in regard to these past terrorist attacks, the events of 911, and the Iraq War, and about the horrifying abuse of the justice system. In these days when so much of the information which the government puts out through the mainstream media is false, we have nothing to count on except for these personal stories told by the actual participants without the help of traditional institutions. This book is thus precious. When we consider that Lindauer publishes this 400-page heavy duty account all by herself we have to be impressed by her incredible ability: not everyone can do this. It's obvious that any future historians who wish to write a genuine account about our current "era of terrorism" must take account of this book.

This is surely one of the most frightening books one could ever read. If anyone is any longer under the impression that America is a country governed by a Constitution which protects the rights of its citizens and prevents arbitrary arrest, imprisonment and torture then prepare to be disabused. I noticed there were a several poor ratings for this book and I took the time to read what has been said by these people - truly such poor excuses for humanity don't deserve in the same country as Susan Lindauer. Sorry, not on the same planet.

If you thought Sibel Edmonds' horrific encounter with the US government 'justice' was scarifying - as indeed it was - Susan Lindauer's story demonstrates the depth of the perversity now at large in the halls of power in the US. When the so-called 'Justice Department' uses its goon psychologists to try and have an American citizen forcefully injected with Haldol so that she will no longer remember who she is or how to control her bodily functions - all because they are desperate to blame someone else for their monumental incompetence over 9/11 (We're talking about you WOLFOWITZ, PERLE, CHANEY, BOLTON, ET AL - and not to be forgotten in this saga the reprehensible ANDY CARD Lindauer's own flesh and blood! - and the astonishingly gutless Colin POWELL - what a lying scumbag he turns out to be!!).

Lindauer's strength through her 10 year ordeal is truly astonishing. In time she will be seen as one of the heroes of the future American revolution which sweeps away the criminal cabal which has seized power in the US.

There is one valid line of criticism which can be directed at Lindauer and her book and that is that her whole story perpetuates one particular form of fiction - and that is that the Bush administration was only guilty of incompetence and hubris - that essentially they dropped the ball on all the intelligence being provided that 9/11 was going to happen. It will be argued - and I am in this court - that this is a very naive view of what happened on 9/11, and that the Bush administration was of course behind the whole thing.

Lindauer never gets to the point of believing that this could be the case. Despite everything she went through her thesis is essentially that the US government demonstrated itself to be incompetent, corrupt vain and venal. The furthest she ever gets in her abject resignation about the perfidy of the US government is to say that it appeared that the Government actually wanted 9/11 to happen to further their strategic aims. You feel like grabbing her by the shoulders and saying "Susan, they didn't just let it happen - they were behind it - they planned it! They were never going to listen to you. It wasn't incompetence and then a desire to appear as though they were heroes. It was always the case that your information about Iraq was going to be ignored."

Yet to attack Lindauer for this naivety is hardly the point. In order for the Bush administration plan to work it was imperative that Iraq be the bad guy - nothing must get in the way of that story - and Susan Lindauer - all effervescent and naive in her desire as a peacenik working for government wanted to be the one to build that bridge of communication. That she didn't realize from day one how completely hopeless her attempts at building that bridge and stopping 9/11 were doesn't detract one iota from the significance of her story or the heroism of her attempt.

Franz Kafka is meant to be fiction. Lindauer's story is gives the lie to this previously comforting assumption.

I hesitate to give it five stars because of all the typos, the needless diversions (that I imagine she includes to flesh out her point of view) and the sloppy way it was written and formatted for Kindle, but I understand the haste with which the author put pen to paper. This is an important book and Susan Lindauer is a unique individual, a witness to one of the defining decades in our country's history. As an author I simply wish she had more help in editing, proofing and marketing her book. It deserves a rewrite and documentary to go along with it. I was especially moved by the end of the book, which should have been the beginning--her description of the prison system and forced drugging was even more disturbing than the portrayal of the evils of the Bush administration and the Republicans who destroyed the Constitution for profit. Thank you, Linda, for your service.

Reviewed in Canada on November 8, 2011
Confessions of a CIA Asset. A damnation of US foreign policy. A condemnation of The Patriot Act, 7000 pages that nobody read.

Here is another great book in a class with "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins or "Family of Secrets" by Russ Baker.

Mainstream media would have you believe there are no whistleblowers or insiders coming forward to show that the official US Government story of 9/11, 2001 is false.
Susan writes "...New York Times apparently saw no reason to inform readers in New York City about the uncanny accuracy of my 9/11 prediction".

Indeed, long-time CIA asset urgently called her cousin, Andy Card to warn him of the coming attacks; she mentioned World Trade Center and hijacked aircraft. Andy was the White House Chief of Staff who whispered
in President G. W. Bush's ear in the Florida school to inform the President that the second plane had hit the World Trade Center. President G. W. Bush then posed for a famous scene in "Fahrenheit 9/11"
by Michael Moore. Susan, Andy's second cousin worked with a CIA team who were desperate to get the attention of the White House. The White House did not want to know.
A group of war-mongers who ran the show refused to allow truth to get in the way of their well prepared plans.

We have an estimated three million deaths in wars since the trumped-up attacks in Afghanistan and Iraq; that's half a holocaust. Unknown millions have been contaminated with Depleted Uranium weapons and
deformed children are being born in the lands of the attacked and the lands of the attackers. DU will be around for four-point-five billion years.

Susan's team had proposed a plan to prevent the Iraq attack (and head off the financial tsunami). Read what the warmongers declined in order to get their plans implemented.
They refused to accept Iraq's offers:

Iraq promised to co-operate in a 9/11 investigation.
Iraq promised to help end the heroin trade.
Promised to buy one million US made cars, every year for ten years.
    Agreed to unconditional weapons inspections.
Agreed to help prevent terrorist attacks.
Agreed to disclose terrorist financial activities and stop the flow of funds.
Gave permission for FBI to operate in Iraq in search of terrorists.

Susan Lindauer had worked as an asset since the Lockerbie investigation and had provided intelligence on several atrocities prior to 9/11, such as USS Cole, Oklahoma City
the World Trade Center attack in 1993.

    Instead of getting the Nobel Peace Prize, Susan was charged under the Patriot Act with being an Iraqi spy; just like the Soviet Gulag, she was jailed and accused of having mental problems, silenced to cover up the cover-up;
Susan outlines how she was taken out so the conspirators could reinvent the truth and lay a major fraud on the people of the planet; she was prevented from giving evidence to the 9/11 commission.

Based on years of contact with Middle East embassies Susan predicted the quagmire we see today.

Read this book and send the used copy to your Prime Minister, Member of Parliament, Senator, Congressman or favourite dictator.

What next? Let's have a criminal trial with Susan and her book placed in evidence before un-contaminated judges.

Call such witnesses as Andy Card, Colin Powell, Dick Cheney, Condolezza Rice, Tony Blair, Larry Silverstein etc; research Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Dr. Bob Bowman, Dr Judy Wood, Dr. Steven Jones etc.

And send copies of this book to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee reminding them that President Obama failed to follow through with a criminal investigation; the terrorists are still at large.

Wake up, she says more than once in this book. Honestly, this book should be a movie. It was fast-paced, suspenseful, funny and even moving at times.
It's the story of what happened to her just after 911. Underpinning her story, is the story of a nation who were hoodwinked into believing something had happened when it had not.Certainly, not in the way they had been told it had happened. But I guess it's hard to see that something is happening when you are right in the middle of it. Lindauer poses a question at the start. It's, 'How often do you hear of someone being right at the scene of a vehicle accident , and has been able to be at the correct angle to catch the impact on your good camera (not cellphone)?' Another quote (from her former boss) 'If it walks like a duck, and smells like a duck - it's a duck.'
