I have a marketing undergrad and I am currently doing my MBA in one of the best marketing schools in the world and I can attest that this books provides with an clear big picture view of how to manage revenue. I am getting extra copies to send as a gift to CEOs of startups that I have worked with
Supported by solid examples and a logical flow, this book lays a framework for identifying and building revenue growth engines. Once you build those, Victor shows you how to create extreme revenue, how to manage the revenue so generated and finally how to sustain such growth.
Each of the three aspects are highly important and together they complete the puzzle. I drew some tremendous insights from the book which I have already started planning to put into practice.
Such a complete, logical book could only have been written by Victor.
Having survived the recession in large part because of Cheng's book "The Recession Proof Business", the re-invention process he recommends pulled me entirely into a new business. This is why I wanted to read "Extreme Revenue Growth", because I know what a long runway it can be to get to from start-up to profitability.
Watching every single episode of "Shark Tank" has helped me better understand his concepts of distribution and a sustainable competitive advantage, but I still love the practical examples he gives. This has been like a college education on MY business, all packed into one little small easy-to-read book.
I tend to be a big-think kind of person, but a lot of the seminars and mastermind groups I've attended seem to be filled with survival-thinkers. I know I'm intended to build an empire while I'm here on earth (not work with one person at a time), but have you ever googled "How to build an empire"? It's literally impossible to find any good material on the nuts-and-bolts of how to do this.
Reading this book is the first time I've known beyond the shadow of a doubt that I really can get my brilliance into the hands of 40M or more people who are just praying to find the answer they've been looking for. Just using one idea from his book increased my seminar attendance by nearly 600%! I haven't conquered the world yet, but the needle is moving in a big way. As he says, I've got aircraft wings on the side of my sportscar!
The best way to share the contents is to look at the four main sections:
**Part I. CREATING GROWTH: Simply being able to *identify* (only) five growth engines brings incredible clarity and simplicity to growing revenue!
**Part II. MANAGING GROWTH: As Mr. Cheng wrote, "We don't need revenue growth, we need revenue growth that can be duplicated." I have used a lot of information in this section to train and develop my team into thinking "scalable."
**Part III. SUSTAINING GROWTH: This section provided me with a lot of clarity over my role as a CEO. This is also where you will find the helpful information on hiring "A-level" talent.
**Part IV. HOW TO GET STARTED: After a full, comprehensive look at many aspects of growth, I appreciated how Mr. Cheng brought it all back to three simple strategies for getting started.
Great read! Covers the fundamentals in a practical and actionable way.
