Excellent splitter for 1 cable modem and 2 TV cable line

My house was built with 1 to 6 splits on a wall outside the house, with one split being cable modem. My Internet connection jumps up and down for no reason. Called my cable modem Internet service provider and they had no clue. I asked them if 1 to 6 split could be an issue, and they said no. They even sent a tech out to check everything and did not see any issue. I only have 3 active coax connections - cable modem and 2 cable boxes. So in reality I only need a 1 to 3 split. I disconnected the unused splits and replaced the old splitters with this unbalance splitter. So far, my Internet line is stable and cable boxes works as is. Remove any unnecessary split if you can.

I previously had a 1 in 4 -7 db out balanced splitter with one output unused. I figured why not get this splitter and eliminate the unused port. I hooked up my cable modem to the strongest output port on this splitter and you can tell there is an improvement in signal power all across the board on my modem (see pics before and after). I also only had one upload channel locked with the old splitter and now 4 channels are locked. Internet speeds are up as well. Cant ask for more with a 5$ Investment.

This is a great splitter for applications where one tv has a longer wire run than the others in the house. One output puts out a higher signal strength to compensate for line loss on the longer length of wire. In my case all three of my televisions had short wire runs, but I wanted to make sure that the primary tv got the strongest signal since it would be watched way more than the other two. Other things to note. It has a ground lug on it. Run a number 10 wire from here to a source of ground, such as a water pipe or a grounding rod. If you don't then your shielded wire isn't doing much for you. This is also necessary if you install an inline surge suppressor on the coax. If the surge suppressor cannot send a lightning strike to ground then it will still go right through your tv. Lastly, this is the same brand that our local cable company uses. If it is good enough for them then it is good enough for me.

Seems to be working well. Based on having phone, internet, and tv, the unbalanced was the way to go to provide the best signal to the internet modem. What this means is the signal is not equal between the three output. One is the best signal while two other share the rest. The internet, per Comcast, needs the best possible signal while the tv and phone can get by on less. I have not noticed any degradation in the quality of the tv or phone. If you have a Comcast (or other company) triple play package you should go this way if you is a separate modem for telephone and data.

I bought this splitter to replace a 15 year old splitter that came with our house. Over the past few months I’ve seen increases in pixelation and macro blocking along with an in ordinate amount of uncorrectable‘s on my cable modem. The cable boxes were old so I swapped all of those out. I even replaced the cable modem which was also about 10 years old. The problems persisted. Instead of paying for a tech to come out as I don’t trust my cable company to tell me it was a problem inside the house, I replaced the splitter with this product. Pixelation and uncorrectable errors disappeared immediately.
