Always a curious and intelligent youngster, she didn't realize that she was looking for a diferent and more meaningful direction.
I found her convoluted journey to Islam, and finding her soul while raising a beautiful family and becoming a well respected teacher by her peers to be fascinating. She writes well and keeps the reader interested and informed about a religion that is not understood b many of us not exposed to Islamic culture.
I recommend this book for a good read BY A TALEWNTED AUTHOR.
The book is well structured and has related gems at the end of each chapter.
The book has the universal appeal for the hearts that get satisfaction only from the remembrance, praise, glorification, and magnification of One universal God.
The anxiety of the fear of death is a very real thing. It is a one way road of life that ends in death. Once encircled with death, it is hard to think about anything but immediate survival. For the long run, turning back to Allah is the only option for any human being faced with the end. My own childhood anxiety returned twice after reading this book.
The book pinpoints many social, economical, cultural, and educational short comings in the Muslim communities that need to be improved.
This story is special to me because I was told about this story by my wife after my marriage in 2005. I have met some of the people or came to know the characters through my wife. My wife was an Al Ghazali student.
The Sitara school is a dream come true. May Allah bless sister Stephanie and her old and new family (Ameen).
