    I'm happy to report that my "Eyes That See In the Dark" by Kenny Rogers arrived a day ahead of Schedule and in positively perfect condition! I love every song featured on this Album, Including "Islands In The Stream". Upon learning every song featured was written by Barry Gibb: I was euphoric! One thing I've noticed about Barry is that when he writes an entire Album for an Artist: He doesn't use pre-written material, but fresh and new stuff for the artist. Furthermore, as far as I know: He never recorded any of these songs on future albums. Despite Kenny's being mainly a Country singer: He does a splendid job interpreting and delivering Barry's songs! Consequently: I highly suggest you purchase this CD-Album, providing you don't already have it! I'm a 100% satisfied customer! Thanks immensely!

    First and foremost, this is Kenny's finest overall album as far as I'm concerned. The collaboration with Barry Gibb yielded 10 top-notch tracks, any of which could have been chart hits. This European reissue is vastly superior to the original (and now out-of-print) RCA CD pressed first in Japan and then later in the U.S. for U.S. distribution. This remaster succeeds in bringing new vitality to the sound without the unnecessary loudness that's inherent in so many modern remastering jobs. I don't think "Islands in the Stream" and "This Woman" have ever sounded better. There's rich, resonant bass and clear treble, with Gibb's background vocals in crystalline presence while never detracting from Kenny's amazing baritone. To me this sounds like high-quality vinyl, minus surface noise.

    Also present in the liner notes is a nice editorial piece on Kenny's and Barry's careers and how they crossed paths to create the album. Full lyrics, chart information, and detailed information about musicians is also included. This is a first-class reissue.

    Even if you own the previous RCA compact disc, snatch this up while it's still available. I'm even buying a second copy!

    And in the "for what it's worth" category, Kenny Rogers is now my neighbor, having recently built himself a new house on a small estate in rural North Georgia.

    The song that I like most in this album is "You and I" which I heard from a pirate copy of cassette tape in 1983. I could only find the song sung by Berry Gibb from the album of the same name a couple of years ago from apple store. Though the music arrangement is almost identical, but the interpretation by Kenny Rogers are lot better (same with other songs written by the Bee Gees to other artists). I'm glad that finally I got hold of this album, though used but the condition is excellent.

    I am from England and was on a small tour in the western states many years ago when a guy from New Zealand had this on cassette and I really liked it. I wore my copy out after buying it in England. Many years later the only place I could buy it was on Amazon.com and that was in the CD format it sounds great and is good to have back in my collection. All the songs are written by the Gibb brothers ( the bee gees) and are great songs to sing along to when driving but I have to say Kenny's voice is better than mine !

    I bought this cd for one track only, Eyes That See in the Dark, because it has a very personal meaning for me. I've found that all other 9 tracks are equally good. If you like Kenny Rogers and the Bee Gees this is a great partnership and well worth buying. . . I haven't stopped playing it yet and I've had it a month or so. Brilliant !

    For a long time,"Islands in the stream" stand in my mind as a measure for a perfect song.Then,just a few weeks ago,thanks to Amazon,finally i have got opportunity to purchase a whole album "Eyes that see in the dark.And i was quite surprised to found an album equaly perfect.
    Songs like "This woman","Buried treasure","Evening star","Midsummer nights","Living with you","I will always love you","Eyes that see in the dark" also are masterpieces of 80's pop music.
    It is hard to decide what is the best thing here: Rogers vocals that are pure perfection,Bee Gees songwriting or Barry Gibb's production (just listen exchange of Kenny's vocals and Bee Gees' backing vocals in "I will always love you").Even two slow ballads "Hold me" and "You and i" does not sound sleazy or silly.
    In my opinion this is Rogers definitive album, stronger than his best efforts from 70's: "Kenny", "Kenny Rogers" or "Gambler"
    Recommend this to all who loves passionate, heartfelt but smart music delivered from some of the most beautiful vocals of the 80's.
    Recorded in the mid of 80's, when mainstream pop delivered much to much sleazy songs and albums, this one give back the faith in pop music.
    For me, this album is placed among very few favorites of any genre.
