SInce no one has yet reviewed this, I'll give it a go. First, here are my criteria for selecting (and ultimately evaluating) a commentary: 1.) It must be available on Kindle. I have shelves of hardcopy commentaries, but don't plan on purchasing any more. 2.) It should be reasonably concise, or arranged in such a way that the main points can be read while the intricate details are set apart in footnotes or some other apparatus. 3.) I have no interest in detailed speculations on how the text arrived in it's current form (dealing with textual variants, translation issues, or difficulties in the logical flow of the text as these things relate to understanding the message are obviously fine) 4.) Historical and grammatical issues are explained in sufficient detail to understand the text. 5.) Most importantly, the commentary needs to help me think about what the text is trying to teach me about God's thoughts and ways, and how it fits in with the rest of scripture.

Based on these criteria, reading through Mr. Jenson's commentary has been a fruitful adventure. In the intro, he explains that he is a systematic theologian and brings that sort of thinking to his book. Most of the really thorny issues regarding free will, God's punishment of His own people, what does the OT mean when saying people will live or die, responsibility for sin (individual or communal), the purposes of God in history, etc. are dealt with somewhere in Ezekiel. Mr. Jenson makes these issues clear (not resolving them or providing some sort of neat answer ... but making the dilema and difficulty of understanding God's ways clear). He often brings to bear the thinking of christians past such as Luther or Augustine or Origen.
