The Korean War begain in 1950 and when the MiG-15 fighter was introduced, it was the best fighter on either side. F-86's were rushed to Korea, where a many battles were fought back and forth between the agile and fast MiG and the F-86. The early models of the F-86 struggled against the MiG, but better pilot training, tactics and improved models led to a favorable 10:1 Kill ratio by the end of the war.
The F-86 was flown by many different nations and still in service as late as 1971. This is an excellent book on all of the varients of the F-86 (the navy version has its own book Fury In Action). Line drawings, black and white photos, well captioned pictures, narrative covering all of the varients and experimental versions as well as 2 pages for color schemes are included.
Highly recommended for modelers, aviation enthusiasts, anyone interested in air combat in Korea will enjoy this book.
