FATAL FLIP: A Home Renovator Mystery Kindle Edition
When thirty-five-year-old, widowed Katelyn, gets fired from Colossal Health, she takes BFF Myra’s advice to follow her passion. She becomes a Home Rehab Specialist in fictional Crocus Heights, Minnesota. Her ninety-day plan to turn distressed properties into cash and career fulfillment turns deadly when she finds a body in her first project.
Attractive, muscular, blue-eyed Sheriff Don Williams suspects Katelyn. After all, it’s her house. Meanwhile, ex-husband Eddy, (it’s complicated) is back in her life and sleeping on her sofa. One mystery leads to another when Katelyn’s snooty neighbor, Ariel, is discovered dead in the bathtub. Could any of the townhome residents have killed Ariel?
Between keeping her stray cat, Boots, in kibble, herself in pizza and good coffee, Katelyn works survival jobs as she unravels the puzzle of who leaves bodies in abandoned houses, and why.

Review
Fatal Flip: A Home Renovator Mystery by M. E. Bakos is a wholesome tale of one woman's struggle to successfully chart a course through a troubled economic climate, whilst coping with some of the more extreme elements of society not normally encountered in day to day life. After losing her job at a large Medical Organization, thirty-five-year-old widow Katelyn Baxter decides to pursue her passion for home renovation by becoming a house flipper. Little did Kate know that her first project would bring with it a dark secret hidden in the attic, one that would set her on a course of investigation and discovery. Kate's determination to succeed drives her to resolve the mystery found in her attic and remove the main obstacle to her sale of the home. Little did she know that this path would lead to unexpected dangers which ultimately placed her very life in danger.
M. E. Bakos' Fatal Flip: A Home Renovator Mystery is a very easy read, being smoothly laid out and couched in language that is clear and concise. The characters are all quite true to human nature, being varied and complex in their depth of emotions and idiosyncratic traits. I found the development of the relationship between Kate and Sheriff Don Williams was particularly well structured, starting initially from a base of awkwardness, and possibly even mistrust, slowly moving through uncertainty to a point of mutual attraction. This came through as being very real and facilitated strong bonds with both of these personas. Reading this book is a definite feel-good experience. In summary, well done on a very good book.
