Sometimes I literally open up my tower, pry off the heat sink, and unplug the processor from the motherboard so that I can tuck it into bed with me and sleep with it. When this processor inevitably fries I will probably give it its own tiny grave next to my final resting place. I will abuse all of my future processors for failing to live up to the unreasonably high expectations that the AMD FX-8320 has left me with. I have forgotten most of my memories of love and happiness in life and have replaced them with long evenings spent serenading the FX-8320. I am so happy. Thank you, AMD.

It's just fast, you wait on nothing.
I said to myself, What would it take to bring this 8320 to a complete lockup? So after a little work I was able to lock it up, and this is
what it took. Prime95, watching a HD movie, Superpi, Youtube HQ video, and decoding a video to HD in realtime. Thats what it took to lock it up.
Believe all the negative reviews if you want, don't believe anything I say. That's your right.
But this thing is really fast, not the fastest, but fast and it can handle a lot apps at one time.
The price is ridiculously low for what you get in return.
Smooth as butter.

Ok, I've had this cpu for a year now, I also have a fx 6100 and a intel i5 4690k. and will be comparing with the two...First the fx 6100 I have had for about 4 years, it is a good cpu nice fast snappy and easy to overclock...I guess you can call it the jack of all trades cpu, It does everything decent but with its poor single core performance, it would not get the job done in older games or any programs that only uses one or two cores to complete a task...The I5 4690k is a monster in gaming, old and new... You can do it all with this cpu, play games, stream, record, web, render, file compression, its single core performance is excellent, and over-clocks pretty good, was able to get a 4.3 ghz overclock with no problem. but it does all this at a premium. Its 100 dollars more than the 8320, and although it can do all these things, just not at once.. multitasking is mediocre at best...Now for the 8320, I brought this cpu for 129.99 on sale, when I first got it I was very impressed it had better single core performance than the fx 6100 and having two more cores. It had a stock clock of 3.5 and a turbo clock of 4.0 and was a multitasking monster. I could play a high end game, stream, render, and play music or a movie at the same time. and was begging for more. cpu use didn't go over 70%. The 8320 does have its flaws, like the single core performance isn't as good as the 4690k but makes up for it with 4 more cores. But its better than the fx 6100. Now this is were the 8320 shines, and is the better buy. I got a water aio cooler and was able to overclock this bad boy to 4.7 ghz, stable, and max temps never get over 51c. at this speed it can keep up with even a i7 costing three times as much, and kills the I5 in multitasking and match it in gaming at a lot lower price point...Read more ›

Pros: Price. Eight cores for super multitasking. Overclocking stable to 4.2Ghz so far. No need to heat your house, just leave this thing running.

No Issues!!! Install went as perfect as one would hope.

Windows Experience Index gave it a 7.8 for Processor Calculations on Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise Edition.

WinRAR for uncompressing files, video editing, & rendering is Blazing FAST!!!

Cons: HEAT! Stock air cooling is NOT enough when running over 62.5% (5 mprime worker threads tested). With room temp at 24ºC CPU temps get 80ºC - 85ºC when running 5 mprime workers for more than 5 minutes.

Other Thoughts: Inexpensive closed liquid cooling is enough to remedy the heat issue. I am using Antec's Kuhler H2O 620 and overclocked to 4.2Ghz and holding 43ºC at 100% cpu usage by mprime (8 worker threads) for 8+days without issue.

First off, I can say that this is a noticeable upgrade from a first-generation Bulldozer "Zambezi" FX-6100 @ a modest 3.8GHz OC. Usage in my system is typically either video games (BF3, BF4, AC IV, Bioshock Infinite, etc.) or converting videos in Handbrake. When I'm not doing either of those heavy-lifting tasks, I usually have a ton of windows open and do a lot of multitasking in everyday programs. This thing really rips.

....But you have to have a motherboard that can not only supply the wattage to run it, but also a beefy enough VRM arrangement to handle it under a load. My ASRock 970 Extreme4 motherboard kept throttling the CPU down to a mere 1.3GHz consistently while converting 1080 video. The temps were fine on the CPU side of things, so that wasn't the issue. After reading around to try and see what was going on, I found that the 8320 and 8350 are prone to being throttled in the less expensive AM3+ motherboards due to the extreme load on the typical 3+1 and 4+1 VRM systems found in the mid- to lower-end AM3+ boards. It's not so much that the boards can't run the processor as much as it is they just overheat under a full 100% load. At this point, I decided to experiment to try and see if there was anything I could do to avoid having to buy a beefier board.

After a little testing and relocation of some system fans, I was able to stop the load throttling. On a side note, I should mention that this particular issue seems to be,in part, the result of forgoing the stock down-draft stock cooler for my current Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (or any other similar side-draft cooler that doesn't direct air directly onto the voltage regulators). The solution I landed on was putting one of my 120mm fans directly above the VRMs blowing down from the top vents of my case.
