Fans got FIFA 14 last year on the new consoles and in all fairness it was a high resolution version of the current gen models. While it had a few tweaks here and there, fans still eagerly awaited what the new FIFA 15 version to see what it could do.

After playing a few games, FIFA 15 has a noticeably weightier feel to it. And by that I mean that the game feels less arcade-like that it has in past years and more strategic in gameplay. Gone are the days when you can pinball passes around hoping for an easy score when now every pass you play needs to be played right but more on that in a moment.

Graphics

In this department, I have to say that there are times when FIFA 15 shines and times when it really doesn’t. EA did a lot of work in fixing some of the players’ facial models to make them look more like their real world counterparts but in a lot of places they still miss. Also EA Sports still really needs to take cues from 2K Sports in really bringing players to life as you still don’t get to see a lot of what sets players apart including their tattoos.

The stadiums for the most part looks better and it looked like EA finally squashed one of the weird lighting bugs that has been occurring since the FIFA 12 iteration that caused the game to go to night time temporarily when players subbed in and out. While the crowds do look less like 2D pop outs, It’s still too many clumps of people doing the same thing that really keeps them from looking individualized but, we really didn’t come to this game to watch the crowd, right?

The lighting effects while better still leaves a lot to be desired as there are times I am wondering why a game played at 9pm still has the look of a 3pm afternoon affair.

My FIFA love is dying. I've played FIFA off and on since FIFA 2001 and pretty religiously for about 5 years now. I'd say I'm a pretty damn good player. This game feels so scripted at times that I can't get my players to do anything right sometimes and then others feel like I could kick a lobbed through-ball all the way across the pitch and score off a bicycle kick from a 37-rated 14 year old midget player (if they were available) every time I attempted it. There is something wrong when at first I can dominate so badly that I score 3 goals in about 15 minutes in game time, then change absolutely nothing about the way I play and give up 5 in the same amount of time.

Also the soundtrack is terrible. It's probably because I'm a crotchety 30 year old man that doesn't want to hear Avicii every time the menu comes up.

Yes, the game is fun at times. It's still easily the best football/soccer game out there. But between their relentless pushing of Ultimate Team pack sales and obvious scripting of games (despite what many people say it's horribly obvious to me that there is scripting) I'm losing a little bit of love for this series. I still do and will continue to play it more than other game but it just irks me sometimes. Also Avicii is terrible. Firmware 2.0 means I can listen to good menu music now though so that's fixed.

This is my first FIFA game on the new generation of consoles. I played FIFA 10-14 heavily on Xbox 360 before deciding to make the jump to PS4. I got the game at midnight release on Monday and have played enough matches since then to have a decent opinion on it.

GAMEPLAY - My biggest problem with FIFA 14 was the insanely overpowered headers. Crosses were pinpoint accurate even when you were shoving the passer out of bounds towards the corner and defenders almost never challenged for the ball, making it way too easy for anyone to score just by getting the ball to the wing and pressing the lob button. And let's not forget corners. They were so easy to score in FIFA 14 that I felt like I had conceded a penalty every time my opponent won a corner. I'm happy to report that crosses and corners have both been toned down to a much more realistic level in FIFA 14. Spamming crosses won't be very effective this year, meaning all the people who relied on that will have to actually learn how to play. That's a big positive in my book.

Another area where I had some issues with FIFA 14 was the sluggish feel of the dribbling and running. I eventually got used to it after playing a lot of matches, but the game felt slow in comparison to FIFA 11-13. They made a conscious effort to improve that this year and I think you can feel it when you play the game. Fast players actually feel fast. Movement is generally responsive. It almost feels like you're gliding at times, but I'm still in the process of adjusting to the console/game switch. My early sense is that I like the physics and control a little more than last year's game.

its an awesome game but I hate the damn SCRIPT that make you get a headache, changing players is so random based on their stupid SCRIPT, players will watch the ball when they are down and some of them just keep walking and watching to receive a goal ! PLEASE REMOVE THIS STUPID SCRIPT, it`s not you that playing sometimes, computer decide you loose or win to make you PLAY MORE ONLINE, Stupid Politics !!! I HATE EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS SCRIPT !!!!!!
