Crystal clear picture, totally worth the $10 - 30 channels found, super thin, less than mouse pad, but quite large it '12" x 8"

So far, so good. If that changes, I will update. It comes with clear instructions (for me anyhow) on how to set it up, which is pretty simple, hook it up, switch to cable/air, scan channels and that's pretty much it. I believe I ended up getting 30 channels, of which several are Spanish and of no good to me, but I do get the local English channels so good enough, I live northeast of Sacramento, CA so more of a suburb area about 30 miles from downtown Sacramento. Crystal clear picture, I am really surprised! Nothing like antenna channels we used to watch as kids with the snowy background, this provides a crystal clear picture, quite happy with it to be honest. It sure beats spending $100 for another DirecTv box plus monthly fees for an additional TV. This is a one-time $10 cost and free TV, can't beat that. It's quite a bit larger than I had antcipated also. For some reason, I thought it was going to be about 5-6" wide, its more like 12" wide by 8" deep. Pretty large actually. I didn't read the dimensions that the manufacturer did provide so I was surprised. No big deal though. And its really really flat, thinner than a computer mouse pad.

I do wish the seller I purchased from would ship it a little better though (and quicker, took 11 days to get it one state away from me.) Mine was put into a bubble manilla envelope which had I not been outside when our mail man came, the carrier would have crammed it into our small mailbox which left it the chance of getting crimped because our mail carrier crams mail into our box...we have one of those neighborhood, centrally located mail boxes for the entire neighborhood and the boxes are pretty narrow.

Anyhow, I'm giving it 4 stars for now, mainly because of the size. Its been rainy and windy outside and the picture has fluttered and pixelated somewhat and froze but did pop back in and clear up. But what do you want for free antenna tv? Perfection? If you're looking for that you might need to call your local cable company (even then it won't be perfect and you'll pay them through the nose.) I overall would recommend this and I'm super picky.

I paired this antenna with the Onn digital signal amplifier from Wal-Mart. After referring to AntennaWeb, and using the compass app on my iPhone, I placed the antenna on the wall facing the towers that I wanted. Following a digital channel scan, I received 60 channels including several low power ones. More importantly, I received every major network from two different markets. For the most part, the picture was stable, and strong on every channel. I'm very happy with this purchase, and the Channel Master CM-4001HD outperformed several others that I tried. Just remember to experiment with location, and a foot or two up and down, left or right is the difference between 16 and 60 channels.

I'm writing this because, in researching what to buy, there are so many antennas being sold for which you can't tell if the reviews are "real" or not. So many sound preproduced. I went with 1byone after seeing a good review (for a different model) on another site, and after noticing that some of the 1byone reviews on Amazon seemed to be from actual users.

I just received and installed my antenna today. I mounted it in a SE-facing window on the first floor, and used the amplifier. My home is in a low area, and I was a little concerned that some channels might not come in well. I had done a TV signal analysis on tvfool.com, which suggested I might get 15 stations well enough to watch, maybe 6 of those very well. The closest I was to any transmitter was 10 miles, and most were between 15 and 40

I used my TV's automatic channel finder to go through and find channels with good enough signal to save. It saved 40 channels. I'd say about

Excellent performance for a great price. This antenna compares with a similar type from another company that is 4 times the cost. The performance between the two is identical - fantastic value. With all indoor antennas placement is critical. It may take a week of experimentation to find the best spot, just be patient and you will eventually get a good signal. A couple of inches one way or the other on the wall can make a huge difference. If you can't find a good signal, it is likely not the antenna but interference from your building or surrounding terrain. For some locations an interior antenna is just not good enough. For all if the rest of us this antenna is probably all that you need.

Very low cost for big cities, definitely worth a try.

I plugged it in according to directions and other reviewers. Although it is a second choice to many, the very low cost of this UnAmplified antennna, coupled with reviewers who indicated that, in a big city, it would probably do just fine, was convincing to me. I have two major towers somewhat to the East of my window, although hidden by city hills, and easily obtained 24 stations when I placed the antenna flat on a table about 6ft infront of the window. PBS is now free to me. Local News was appallingly poor, but that's not the antenna's fault. As reviewers remarked, the bubble wrap envelope container is not protective, and mine was dented in two different places, but not, thankfully over the inner foil pattern.

Wow! What a deal! I was only able to pick up 3 channels at first, but after moving the antenna near a window in my living room, I was able to pick up 14 channels. Thanks for an excellent product! I'm saving $43/month on cable costs!

P.S. This antenna works much better than the more expensive 40+ mile range amplified antennas available at Wal-Mart (I believe they were GE and RCA brands).

**UPDATE** I moved to Dallas, TX to go back to school, and I'm able to receive 26-30 channels here in my 1st floor apartment with two floors above me. My window faces the opposite direction direction of the towers, yet whether I put the antenna in the window or just lay it flat on my tv stand, I still get great reception. I cannot say enough great things about this antenna. It continues to perform wonderfully!
