The app was always buggy, and two of the cameras died on me within the first few months of use. But FLIR/Lorex recently topped that by deliberately rendering all FLIR FX cameras inoperative, without even bothering to notify me either before or after they did it. I only found out when I tried to view the cameras and the app had been disabled. Will never, ever, ever buy anything from this company again.

Love the image quality, ability to select motion alert zones based off of motion or audio, and change the sensitivity. Night vision quality is great too! Rapid recap is nice, as you can view 8 hours of recordings based off motion/audio triggers in under 5 minutes. However, after the free trial ends you only get 3 rapid recaps a month. If you need this feature for anything other than a break in (like watching your kids) you'll end up paying. At $7/mo or $70 a year this seems excessive considering the high initial purchase price of the cameras. If the battery life lasted a couple months I'd upgrade this review to four stars. At this price point I would expect free limited cloud storage (say 30 days?) or unlimited rapid recaps; those two items would bring this up to a five star review. I'll be using these inside, and switching to blink or Arlo for my outdoor cameras now that I've moved to a house where I can't use wired cameras without paying an electrician to come and rewire the exterior of the house. This makes the motion/audio triggered recordings useless as the cameras would constantly be going off when I'm home, unless Lorex integrates a geofencing feature in the future.
