Love the book,

I got the book, and it just brought memories, even though that I also work at a camera store that I remember in the hey day that we sold millions of Polaroid film at any size, and so when I got my SX70, and a color pack camera, and also a polaroid back for my medium size camera, that I quickly started shooting the material. I was sad when Polaroid ended the production, but Fuji has their Instax run, and I too have both the standard wide, and mini instax. I thank you for the book, and wish that Polaroid would think twice, and start remaking the film, even though the other company Impossible Project did save the plant, that wish that they would be making the pack, and 4x5 film once again, and make the SX70, and 600 film in Twin packs.

I feel really ripped off. I thought this book would be more like the other "Found" titles. Instead, it has one picture every other page - with only the briefest captions. Too little for way too much!

Coffee For The Brain Book Reviews

I read through this very quickly. I cannot remember how I came across this title to be read, but it was suggested to me somehow. Anyways, I did not spend a lot of time with this book. I found the pictures interesting and the stories interesting to read in terms of how they were discovered and what the pictures were about, but nothing that really grabbed me. I enjoyed my time reading the book, but don't think there is anything that is going to stick with me. Maybe I expected more or more emotional pull from the stories, but it just did not happen. It is a reminder about how much we leave behind about ourselves in this day and age. Here these Polaroids had to be planned. You just did not go and snap 1000 pictures and delete the ones you no longer want. With so much social media our whole lives are documented. It shall be interesting to see what develops in the future.

I don't understand the bad reviews of this book. It's very simple but it is what it says it is, FOUND photos. They are supposed to leave you to wonder not to have a detailed story behind each one. That is what makes the book interesting! You are left to wonder what went on, who is in the photo, and the story behind it.

Great coffetable book for those who appreciate the beauty of a Polaroid

True, this book is simplistic in its photo descriptions, but the photos really do the talking. Don't expect to get a voyeuristic glimpse into the lives of complete strangers; the photos are more subtle than that. From descriptions that I have read, I get the feeling that this is more of an "art book" than the other Found books. There is an indescribable charm surrounding this photography medium: Polaroids have a certain mystery and even poignancy about them, and this book does a nice job of showcasing that. This isn't the type of book that I'd go out and buy for myself, but it's nice to give/receive as a gift.

Art book or not...

you'd be better off looking at Flickr. A good number of these photos are not interesting at all, granted there are a few you'll stare at and wonder about, but the vast majority of these feel like they should have remained lost.

Coulda been better

I wasnt as impressed with this book as I thought I would be. Its ok. I'm a huge polariod fan and I just thought the pix would be more interesting. Its worth buying though cause its cheap.
