In a dystopian future, a relentless turf war rages. Two rival gangs feud for control of rural wasteland Frazier Park ('The FP') in the deadly arena of competitive dance-fight video game "Beat-Beat Revelation." After hometown hero BTRO is slain on the dance platform by thug leader L Dubba E, his protégé younger brother JTRO (Jason Trost) goes into isolation, vowing never to duel again. One year later, The FP is in ruins, and JTRO must find the courage to return and restore order in a ruthless battle for revenge that can only leave one man dancing. From the producers of Paranormal Activity and featuring narration by James Remar (The Warriors), THE FP is a fury of fierce footwork, triumphant montages and neon street wear that Moviefone calls "a rare ready-made cult hit."

Second: this movie follows the sport-story arc. Like Rocky, but with DDR.
Third: Yeah, DDR. They call it BBR "Beat Beat Revalation". Instead of "dance-offs" they have .... Yeah.
Fourth: Over the top swearing/cussing/foul language. I consider this a plus, as it was intentional and matches the rest of the movie well.
Fifth: Get it. Get it now. If you enjoy parody, satire, and some social commentary (seriously, this movie is a parallel to the American Civil War).
If you've made it this far into my review, good for you! You are rewarded by being told that:
the acting (though over the top characters, this is intentional) is good.
The story, latching onto the sports comeback cliche, is surprisingly good.
And the set, costume, and other designs are all well done. Production values of this blow every other indie film out of the water.
With this and many other now immortalized lines this film became an instant cult classic. The world this film creates has to be seen to be believed and it is sold 100% by everyone involved. Watch it yourself and then put it on for some friends without telling them what it is about. In the opening sequence they will be bewildered and think they are watching some funky 80's flick and then the magic that is "The FP" reveals itself and you are either a believer or not. No spoilers here. I just wish the cover didn't give something away that is better left as a surprise. This film is best enjoyed with no knowledge of what you are going into. It's not for everyone as there is a lot of profanity and vulgarity in the movie. Characters definitely have their own manner of speaking too. The humor of this film is awesome and the closing shot was great. There are no films to really compare this to. It stands and dances on its own.
If you do not try to take this film seriously and accept that it's meant to be fun/funny you will embrace the absurdity and at the end you'll wind up wanting more. While there's a lot of obvious humor, there is just as much that is subtle. Even after watching this movie multiple times I am still finding new things to laugh at. Do yourself a favor and give this flick a chance.
We roll together, we die together.

It IS region locked to the US, however, and I had to spend a little while trying to get the Blu Ray player to play it. Be warned, or just get the DVD.
There's clearly a passion for the project and this movie is serious about it's ridiculous premise. Despite the ludicrous way everyone looks, acts and speaks there's an insane consistency to the world and it's people. Instead of half-assing the premise and feeling tepid and drawn out, The FP doubles down and is consistent, weird serious all at the same time. It's also profoundly vulgar; this isn't something you watch with your kids or parents.
It's fun! If you don't offend easily give it a shot!
