The DVR included is very simple and easy to use. It comes with both a mouse and remote for use (I used the mouse which was quick and easy). The cameras seem of very good quality, though initially I had some trouble getting the camera to stay in a certain position, I later discovered it was user error. The images are really good and clear. The images from the camera can be clearly viewed both in light and at night. I was actually quite impressed with how clear of an image feed I was getting at night.
One of the things I love most about this system is the ability to utilize their app to view the camera feed from your phone. Surprisingly, their isn't much of a delay either. I believe it may be a 1-2 second delay at most in terms of the feed you view from the app. The app is very simple to use as well. Not too much fussing either, you simply scan the barcode provided during installation and the camera is added that easily. The app seems to run smoothly and I haven't had any issues with it crashing. This was something I was worried about when researching other home security systems, but was very relieved to find that this was not an issue.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this home security system if you're looking to get some surveillance going on your home.
Well, upon arrival I was greated with a nice box that indicated CCTV Security. I knew I ordered cameras and a DVR By Fredi, but that is not what ios on the box. After I opened the box I noticed 6 other little boxes inside. This was nice to see all the parts in separate boxes. Nothing was labeled, but common sense tells you what each item is. The cameras are black and made of aluminum and the base is steel. They at first seemed too light to be real until I plugged them in to test before going out in the cold to set them up.
Setup was easy once I figured out where I wanted to have them pointing. Install is fairly straight forward. The base has 3 screw holes for you to mount the camera to a surface. They do come with mounting hardware , but I opted out and used some weather proof deck screws. The most difficult part of the whole setup was running the cables for each camera. Luckily my attic isn't small and has flooring. I ran all the wire to a central location. (which this unit comes with 60 Ft of cable for each camera).
Now the difficult and most annoying part was the installation of a hard drive that I had laying around. (unit does not come with one). I used a Western Digital Blue 1 TB in my system. The mounting holes for the hard drive in the DVR are not designed it seems for a full 3.5 inch HDD. Now had I decided to use a SSD or a 2.5 inch drive Mounting would have been a breeze. My HDD is only held in with 1 screw, which is ok since the DVR isn't being tossed around like a football.
The setup for the cameras on the DVR is at first confusing but once you figure out where items are in the menu it is not too bad. As for the remote viewing of the cameras be prepared to use Internet Explorer you want to view them from a PC.
As for a android or iOS device you can download the app they provide in the setup guide. Once you are in you have access to all the cameras on your system. The quality is quite good. I can make out people and license plate numbers from my house to the street.
I have my system setup with motion detection so that that it is not always recording. You can setup on the DVR a specific area that is to be detected. Most people wont use this feature.
Overall this was a great buy and a smart choice for people wanting something easy and are a DIYer at heart.
I own before another Security Camera system for more than 5 years and after all that time this system still the same type to me no difference except for the "red color" recording.
Remote control is pretty weak though . Had to get a usb extension cord for the mouse.I had the same problem with a wireless mouse
as with the remote, wouldn't reach 15 ft.
