The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

This heeled slip-on makes me feel more sophisticated, elongates my legs and is simply comfy. I suspect there may be a half-inch platform built in because it doesn't even feel like 2 inch heels.
A word of caution: Since it's so plain and unembellished, you have to jazz up your outfit in other ways or it can make you look like you're wearing clogs with a uniform (e.g. if you wear it with a dark pencil skirt and plain blouse you could look like a flight attendant, schoolmarm, food service worker––unintentionally). If you actually do work in any of those occupations that requires you to be on your feet a lot, I think you would still love this shoe! But I use it to dress down my other stylish clothes while being kind to my feet.

They are awesome shoes. But, the heels are too wide an slop off the heels when I walked so I had to return them. Read morePublished 11 months ago by brb
