Product Description

A chunky heel and upturned toe charm in this Victorian-inspired oxford.

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

These are a great staple for the fall wardrobe. I purchased in the dark brown and the color goes with everything. Absolutely most comfortable shoes in my closet Can walk miles in these. Not sure about the sizing. I ordered my usual shoe size 6 1/2 but feel a little big - waiting on a 6 which will probably work great. I usually wear a 6 in their boots.

These are the bomb! Just gorgeous. "Blush" color is not pink. Rather, it's a warm, neutral, go w/ everything beige. Heel is a dream-come-true, perfect height & comfort. Entire shoe is so comfy, looks very rich, even my 16 yr. old daughter approves :) Easy on/off. Perforations in leather allow airflow- cool & comfy for Summer. Love it so much, I bought 2 pair. Normal size fits just right. I suggest to just order your regular size- Do not order down from your regular size, like a lot of Frye reviewers frequently suggest. Frye's are made so that our toes are supposed to have some wiggle room! Leather is thick, sturdy, w/ slightly glossy finish. Frankly, I never in a zillion years imagined I'd wear a "wingtip oxford". But these somehow just rock! Enjoy :)

I purchased these in the Blush color, which is actually a great neutral shade, not much pinkish or "blush" about it. I love the distressed finish. The heel height is slightly higher than most oxfords, but for me it's the perfect feminine detail on a menswear inspired shoe. I wore them with a vintage dress recently, and they looked amazing. They're very comfortable, nicely padded in the ball of foot area, and good arch support. The sizing is a little weird, I wear a solid US 10 and the 9.5 in this style fit perfectly. They are slightly narrow in the toe area, which works well for me, but for a wider foot I probably would not size down. The fit is similar to the Carson oxford, which I also sized down to 9.5. I'm very happy with these shoes.

A smart shoe which I simply like to wear. I'm a nurse working extended hours so on my feet for long periods. I wear my black Maggie Perf Wingtip Oxfords mostly at work and I also bought the same shoes in Cognac which I often wear on days off with jeans or a skirt & tights. Many people have asked me where I bought it and where it's manufactured. Call me crazy but I bought another similar pair of Frye Oxfords in green.

They run a little large, and I'm finding them slipping at the heel - enormous blisters as a result. An insole/heel grip might help the slipping problem, but they will need a little wearing in before they are comfortable. Beware the standard Frye leather soles, I've necked myself at least 3 times already on a wet day. They do look really funky though!

I was so excited to get these for 90 bucks who gets Frye Oxfords at that price I jumped at the chance....There was a reason they were so cheap on sale....When I got them they were more manly than what the pics showed and they fit so funny like a half size to big i'm and 8.5-9 I ordered a 8.5 and probably needed an 8 to be right. When I wore them I felt like I was wearing them on the wrong feet (I was not). They were very stiff and I was sliding around not much traction. I so wanted these to work out for me however it just was not meant to be...I am still on the search for the perfect oxford It's been 6 months and I just can't find one that works in my price bracket and shoe size! But if your gonna for these I suggest a half size down.

These shoes are very comfortable. Although a little on the expensive side, the quality is outstanding. I believe I will have these shoes for a very long time. They have a very classic look and beautiful color.

I purchases these shoes a few months ago and wanted to wait a while before I made a review. First said, these shoes are very well made. The leather is thick and durable, and the craftsmanship of the shoe shines through. I have a wide foot, and they felt quite snug in the toe box area, and a little long on length (hindsight, I should have ordered the 8. I usually wear an 8.5). In any case, I was determined to make them work, so I dropped them off to my shoe repair shop and had them stretch the toe box to widen it. I also had them add a rubber sole since the leather sole was quite slippery! After having all that done, I will say these are my favorite pair of shoes. The leather is still quite stiff, but I expect in time they will soften up. A little saddle soap treatment and they are good to go even in the wet snow and rain!
