- Two types (11mm, 16mm) will be available. You can choose from the two types of tubes depending on the level of magnification you require.

The MCEX-16 (for extended close-up work), is a Macro Extension Tube for close-up photography. By attaching the ring between a FUJINON XF or XC lens and a camera body, users can enjoy high-magnification photography. When the Macro Extension Tube is attached, the focus range is limited so users can find a focus point by moving the camera forward and backward. The Macro Extension Tubes are equipped with electronic contacts, retaining normal AE, (Auto Exposure) functions and are designed to seamlessly blend into the original look and feel of the X-Series line of compact system cameras.

Pros: cheaper than purchasing a macro lens
takes up less space in my bag, one less lens to carry
easy to take off/on
Cons: my only real issue is depth of field, using my XM1 and focus peaking I can get a feel for what is in focus.... but the depth of field is not apparent at all. Meaning my LCD always gives me the impression that every picture will be super shallow. After I take the picture and look at it, it looks great. I basically have to play around with the aperture until I get the desired result.

First, the item is NOT cheaply made. If you wish to dive into the macro world, make sure the lenses you want to use will give the desired effect, you can find these charts by searching for "fuji macro tables", it will provide you with working distances, magnification levels, etc.
No, this tube does not come with caps, just buy a set or leave it in the plastic bag it comes in while not in use .. not really a big issue.
The fit and finish is fantastic, I have no clue what another reviewer was talking about when they commented on this. Either they got a defective tube or its a flat out lie, who knows.
You can buy cheap tubes with the electrical connections and maybe get a decent one, or you can go this route and be guaranteed of the results, the choice is yours.
The macro images I've taken with it installed have turned out acceptably, but that's more a matter of my skill and lack of experience than the function of the extension tube. It's certainly less expensive than a macro lens, which fits my needs well.
For someone who wants to shoot a lot of macro, or explore the full spectrum of macro subjects, this will not suffice. But for the photographer with a curiosity about macro, and the desire to occasionally shoot macros, this extension works just fine.
