Directions

To put the handle on the rake head, apply a little soap/detergent and water to the black threaded end of the handle. Expand the handle enough to leave a good gripping area on the thin end of the handle. Push the threaded end of the handle into the round opening in the head and rotate the handle clockwise until the thread grips into the grooves in the head. Keep turning until most of the thread is embedded. It is easier to attach the rake head with two people, with one holding the head and the other turning the handle. This is designed to be very tight so that the handle and rake head will not separate during use.

I have a Blue Heeler, if you're unfamiliar, they are notorious year round shedders. His fur is like velcro and it manages to find its way onto and into everything in my existence. His fur is stubborn, it weaves into all textiles and is in every corner of every space in my car, house, etc. This broom is the only thing I've found that removes most of his imbedded hairs on carpet/bath mats/flooring in the car, and I like how it works on hardwood cause it picks up things brooms just can't. My friend warned me that using this item can be labor intensive, you might work up a sweat if you are tackling stubborn dog fur like me, but it's so satisfying to see what it scoops up (a lot is unseen to the eye). I use the handheld one mostly in my car. I think having both is necessary if you have multiple types of surfaces/surface areas to tackle, however if you opt for the handled one, you can adjust the length. Happy cleaning!

I have one of those hand-held scrapper to pick up pet's fur, I have 2 dogs who shed excessively so I always use the hand-held scrapper to rack up any fur remaining on the carpet after vacuuming. Although it worked, it's quite tiring to the back. I came across this broom and figured I should give it a try. It worked extremely well for short fur carpet and hardwood floor. The easy sweeping movement can pick up majority of the fur. However, some fur did stuck in between those brushes. Also, if the carpet has longer fur, it cannot pick up all the fur as good as the hand-held scrape.

The product is good for getting dog hair out of the carpet. With initial use I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the broom handle so I was hunched for the first day. The second day I figured it out on accident. You have to twist the broom handle from the black adjuster at the bottom by twisting it (I want to say clockwise). After adjusting it fit my height and was easier to use. I was able to get a lot of my Labs hair out of the carpet. I would recommend

I have thought a lot about how to properly to review this broom. How dumb is that? That I am worrying about a broom review on Amazon. Golly, anyway. If you have any hard surfaces in your house and have any pets. BUY THIS BROOM. Don’t think or stress about it. Just buy it.
Let me explain. I have no carpets in my house because I have pets. I had 3 Chi-something dogs, (yes, I just lost one, RIP Roxie {sniff, sniff}, but still have 2) and a big black cat. All these fur people have a ton of hair that floats around and lands everywhere along with the dust. (I live in AZ, and while during daylight hours I may wish to hide in the darkest and coolest place in my house, others go in and out of the house allowing dust and flying things inside, and to boot I have an old front door that lets in dust through cracks. That dang dust is everywhere all the time. It is just sad.) I have purchased a variety of different brooms and dusters to help me with the floating fur and dust problem. Each one had their own pluses and minuses, mostly minuses. Mainly because to get rid of the fur balls, I still had to fight the broom bristles or fabric to pull off the dusty dirty furballs that get stuck. ICK! Some brooms have the type of bristles where you can NEVER get all the hair out. I found myself constantly fighting to get the fur balls out. I even found that I was pulling out the lint brush for the fabric ones or washing them after every use. It was crazy. Then one day I found myself researching a stationary floor vacuum from Amazon. I found the one I was looking for and added it to my cart, and the screen said; “many people who purchase this item also purchase this broom”. I thought What…? Really that thing? Why? I researched it, it had good reviews. I thought, “I have enough random and useless brooms to support a squadron of witches, do I really need another for backup?” I read the best and worst reviews I could find, and decided why not, I could use a backup broom, you know for parts.

The vacuum and the broom arrived together. I set them up and decided to sweep up the hallway with this new rubber broom. I was not prepared for how this thing was going to work. I went for the dust bunny infested hallway certain it would work like the other brooms. Then it happened, the clouds parted the angels sang and the room was filled with light. Mostly because I turned on the hall light. (I normally keep it off because I don’t want to see the dust bunnies milling about the the walls.)

Seriously, it was AMAZING! First the handle on this thing is solid and long enough for a moderately tall person like me. Solid enough that when I nearly passed out, it caught me and kept me upright without collapsing. The bristles are some type of rubber that are solid and not gushy, but don’t scratch or mark the walls or the floor. On one side of the broom head, you get the bristles, the other is like a floor squeegee. If one side doesn’t work, flip it, the other side will work. Soon I was going up and down the hall collecting the rando dust bunnies that were trying to flee the scene. But I was able to round them all up and put them in front of the new vacuum and poof! They were sucked up and gone into the belly of the beast. (That is when I needed the solid handle for support, the knees got weak.) Nothing stuck to this broom. The hair and dust was all just gone. No bending over picking it up, or getting a dustpan, or fighting the broom for it. I immediately went back over the hall to see what I left then I realized this new broom could dust off the floorboards. I went up and down the hall sweeping off the floorboards. Then I went back over the floor with the squeegee side. I picked up more dirt and dust and pushed it in front of the vacuum. It was magic. I put the broom in front of the vacuum so it would take off any remaining anything clinging to the rubber head (there was nothing I saw but I am old and don’t always trust my eyes). Once again and it appeared to work perfectly. The next crime scene was the kitchen floors. I went for the area under the cabinets and around the stove and frig. I realized that this thing picked up all the pieces, and I could now mop without bringing out the vacuum to get the unseen particles that I never seem to get all of before I mop.

Needless to say, the arrival of this broom resulted in me getting my floors clean and when I was done, it was sturdy enough to get me to a chair to collapse in. The other brooms in the house have been moved outside for recreational riding only. I love this thing. Now, when I see the dust bunnies starting to loiter in the hall, I just grab the broom and get them to the vacuum, and it is done. If you have hard service floors and pets, buy this broom, it will be the best money you have spent in a long time.

I have a short-haired dog who sheds year round. Spreads his love everywhere. I was hoping this would work on area rugs, but it really doesn’t. The ads are misleading. Sure, if you collect a bunch of hair & drop it on a rug, this will pick it up, but it doesn’t get hair that has been there for a couple of weeks after vacuuming. That said, it works great on my hardwood floors—better than a broom. For that, it’s worth it.

I have two cats that shed on my rugs and it looks really nasty. I've tried vacuuming but I ain't got time to take the vacuum out everyday, different lint rollers etc. I thought about buying a Dyson but it's so expensive and the reviews regarding cat hair aren't too good. So I bought this. At first I thought it was garbage, couldn't extend the handle and had pretty much wrote it off. It smelled rubbery. So I came back to read the reviews here, and I thought I need to try again. You do have to figure out the best technique to use, I did deep slow drags and I kid you not it collected rolls of hair. Gross. But amazing! I haven't been paid to write this. It's a straight up honest review. If pet hair is ruining your life get one of these!!
I'll update if things go poorly as time goes on. But, for first go I got a rake load of hair up!

I looked for a long time before I found this broom. Every other one I've tried had flimsy handles that buckled and were completely useless. We do not have pets but I have medium length hair that sheds like a sheep dog. And if I can't manage to get it off the carpets it twines itself around the vacuum cleaner rotors and eventually burns out the motor. It's very hard to remove it from the vacuum so this will make the job so much simpler. The first time I used the broom was not long after vacuuming the house and it picked up a fist full of hair. The handle is sturdy even when it's telescoped to full length and locks in place. I'm very pleased and would highly recommend this great broom.
