    I BEAST.
    5 out of 5 stars
    I BEAST.
This is a beast of a machine. I bought it primarily to produce on, but I bought it: - Has both internal SSD and HDD, which can both be upgraded - Ram can be upgraded - Red backlit keys It comes both with HDD + SSD (Which is perfect for someone like me, who can install programs and heavy vsts on my SSD, making it fluid). It has 16GB of ram, over enough to get it pumping (You can also upgrade to 32GB, which I will be doing). You can also expand the drive size. A backlit keyboard (Never had one, so I love it), an I7 core running 2.8ghz and a nice physical finish. This was $1000 well spent. I almost went with the Predator, but it lacked SSD and has overheating problems, so I found this instead, thank God. I would recommend. This machine is so good, it makes me want to game on it. Cons: Only one HDMI (Not that I need more than one, but still.) No media buttons (Not that I need them, but still) I definitely love this laptop. I actually bought it for music production, not gaming, but it is a beast. It powers to the start screen in about 10 seconds, it loads all of my samples and beats quick and the CPU never overloads or comes close, when working with tons of samples and big files via FL Studio. My old laptop was not designed for music, nor was the CPU that great, so it was a pain, but I finally upgraded.

Sorry for the long review upfront, but since i was desperate for reviews for this product before i bought and there are barely any out there I'll write a detailed one, consider this a 4.5 stars, since there is no option for that i rounded it to 5.

Coming off from my asus g55bw that served me very well for 5 and half years i decided it was time for an upgrade, to something powerful as well. I have to admit that I initially wanted the Dell 7577, though it was not available for international shipping and cost 300$ more in my country, and the gl503 was way to expensive. Still Eventually i decided to go, even bet on this one since there weren't any reviews on it. I had this laptop over two weeks, adequate time for a review.

Package was intact and in order, also got the warranty document and guide. No dead pixels on the screen to my surprise, no defects can be seen or any other damages. The matte finish is absolutely stunning, feels great very slick looking, doesn't at all look like a gamer laptop which in my opinion is a big plus. The screen has a flex to it but the keyboard part of the laptop is pretty rigid, it's not the best build but there has to some compromises to match the price point. Nice quality camera and very nice speakers. The keyboard feels really good, very comfortable to type, touchpad got a very smooth feeling to it, responds very well nice to use. The Screen is awesome, great display even from difficult angles. The laptop comes only with a power button unlike asus rog series that has additional buttons for gamer features. The selection of ports is ok, 3 usb 3 an one sd card, in my case i don't need more than that so it doesn't bother me.

This machine packs an insane hardware for it's size, weight and thickness, i7 7700hk cpu, 1060 3g, 16 gb, 128 ssd 3 + 1tb 5400rpm. Still impressive that they fit everything in this laptop. This is an absolute game crusher, tested it on shadow of war, wolfenstein ii the new colossus and overwatch:
Shadow of war on ultra: 45-65 fps
Wolfenstein ii the new colossus on ultra: 75-95 fps
      Overwatch on epic: 100-120 fps.
      Overall very very impressive.

Now for the not so good part. The minor issues: the usb ports seem to be too rigid, you have to use some force to take out a device out of the port, though in time it seems to get a bit easier, i hope it won't be worn out eventually. In addition the num lk is annoying, there is no indicator if it's on or off. Furthermore, the fans are really really loud under heavy load, but this is not to big of a deal since i always play with earphones. This is the successor to the fx502, that laptop had to big issues: screen and heating. The screen on the fx503 is ips so no problem with that but to my disappointment the big heating problem is still alive. Since asus packed this heavy duty hardware in this thin laptop they had to compromise, so the cooling system is not good at all, really bad. While gaming on high settings the temps were really high, just to note the the gpu handle itself very well and it's on usually 69-75 C, the problem is the cpu. under heavy load it got to 96 C!!! really bad. Took me a while to find a trick to lower the temps, a good on is to go to window's advanced power options and to lower the max cpu usage to 99% from 100% so the cpu won't go to turbo mode, that takes down a couple of degrees which i strongly recommend to people who buy this to do this option even with a cooling pad, performance won't be effected. Another method is to elevate the laptop so there would be an airflow between the surface and the laptop. Despite those methods the temps are still to high for the cpu, were about high 80's under max load. there is no escape from buying a cooling pad, actually with this laptop the cooling pad does a great job because of the laptop's ventilation at the bottom that exposes the gpu and the cpu cooling system, it took down a whopping -15+ C which is a lot, now under max load it's usually around mid 70's up to 80 as it should be.

I would have given this product a 4 star if it wasn't for the cooling pad, with it this laptop is a beast that will last for a while so my final rating is 4.5, so if you do not mind the cooling pad this is a great option for the average gamer. Overall awesome laptop and very portable.

**EDIT: Strongly recommend (at your own discretion -it's quite safe just watch a youtube guide for XTU) to undervolt the cpu, will do wonders to temps and performance.

Was a great computer that ran smoothly. Being a gaming computer, it’d last only a couple hours off the charger. This gradually decreased to a little over an hour after about a year and a half (lasts a bit longer on battery saver mode. Around that time the motherboard failed. At this point, the warranty I didn’t renew had run out. New motherboard is unique to this series, costs around 600 or so for a brand new one. Asus will charge 800 dollars for it. Seeing as I paid 1100-1200 dollars for it I figured I’d save my money to buy a new one. If you buy this laptop make sure you get a warranty and keep renewing it.

Great laptop, performs well. Looks great. 4.5 out of 5.....taking .5 off cuz of the screen.

Pros: Solid feel, despite being plastic. Great looks, great specs and performance. Keyboard is easy to type with, the 1060 3gb performs better than i expected it to for my gaming needs. Light and thin.

Cons: The screen is not as bright or color accurate as i expected it to be, had to do some calibration. The screen is okay, it's not outstanding, my older asus laptops had a more vibrant display at about the same price i bought this laptop for.

I am absolutely loving this gaming laptop. When the time came for me to buy a new gaming laptop, I did my research like everyone else. I looked at the best brands and the best specs for gaming and tried to find something that would allow for very high quality gaming but also be a good deal. This laptop was the perfect choice for me. I was recommended this laptop by a friend who owns a similar ASUS gaming laptop, and at the time I didn't know much about ASUS as a brand. He assured me that ASUS has never given him any issues before, so I took his advice and I'm very glad that I did.

This laptop is beautiful, and its an absolute beast for gaming. This laptop will handle any game you throw at it, in ultra quality nonetheless.
it has an ultra fast, 7th gen i7 intel processor, which is great for a gaming laptop. most of the newer AAA titles recommend an i7 processor so that a big plus. It has a hybrid hard-drive, which is extremely useful. the SSD helps this laptop boot up very quickly. The HDD is for all of your storage needs, meaning you wont run out of space quickly. This laptop comes with a GTX 1060 Graphics card, in the 3GB variety. if you want to be able to play future games, and not just current games, you have to go for the 1060 graphics card. Not the 1050, not the 1050ti, but the 1060. A lot of gaming laptops try to keep their price down by offering the 1050 variety. don't be fooled, if you care about being able to play games that are released two years from now, you'll need a 1060. The fact that this one is 3gb is not much of a problem because there are hardly any games that ever need more than 3gb memory from your graphics card anyways. ASUS packed the best hardware into this laptop, the specs are absolutely great and make this laptop fly.

The laptop itself feels sturdy, and looks sleek and stylish without looking too much like a gaming laptop. the keyboard feels great and has a nice red backlight to it. The screen, while not the absolute highest quality, is still great and I don't have any problems with it. The battery life is as you would expect from a gaming laptop, you wont get much time gaming on the battery, you'll have to keep it plugged in when playing the more demanding titles.

Now, onto the one tiny blemish on this overall outstanding laptop, the cooling system. This laptop is known to run a little hot. Since its a gaming laptop, this can be expected. It was built to be able to withstand high temperatures, but sometimes it can get really hot. The most simple way to solve this problem would be to purchase a cooling pad with at least 4-5 spinning fans. I bought myself a cooling pad and its been keeping my laptop cool and working well. As long as you buy a cooling pad, you'll be able to get many years of use out of this amazing machine.

Don't let the fact that this laptop runs warm steer you away from an otherwise amazing machine. Its a beast for gaming, packing some of the best specs available into its sleek and stylish frame. Asus has definitely cemented itself as a top-notch gaming laptop brand in my book. Their customer service is good, and its live updates always make sure your laptop is up to date and running smoothly.

I've had this laptop for almost 2 months now and have not had any problems with it at all. It works great, allows me to play all my most demanding games in the highest quality, and is lightning quick no matter what its doing. I totally recommend this laptop to anyone that is looking to upgrade to a better gaming laptop, am incredibly pleased with my purchase, and have gotten tons of enjoyment out of it already. I am really glad I chose to buy this laptop. Buy a cooing pad with 4-5 fans in it for this incredible machine and you'll be able to alleviate the one and only blemish I can find with this product.

Good laptop, problem is the electric jack is spring loaded or something. Had problems with it since I got the item and the plug would not go in after 2 weeks. This made it so I could not charge my laptop and rendered it useless. Issue was with the charge port had to return.

I like this laptop. Slim and light for its size, but unfortunately it can't be used unplugged for too long. The battery really really sucks. Even when it is fully charged and you turn it off to put it away, the battery will be half empty the next time it is turn on.
