Love the colors of the gelatos! I am using this for mixed media! I made sprays with gelatos and water in the little spray bottles! The Pallet knife works great with the texture paste and the stencils, although made from heavy paper, are holding up well with lots of use! I bought this kit for myself and then one for my grown up daughter! We are both having fun with it!

This was a disappointing purchase. The product description boasts an instruction booklet that actually only contains a total of four two-sentence paragraphs. The stencils are made of a cheap brown paper that wrinkles when used and is not suitable to be reused. The spray bottles, dropper, pallet knife, blending tool and brush are all standard although the handle of the brush did come off after one use.

The Gelatos themselves are not as impressive as one would hope. Although the colors are vibrant and have an illuminating effect, one could achieve this on a more affordable scale with water soluble oil pastels or watercolor crayons. The Gelatos do blend nicely and apply like lipstick complete with a buttery feel. It takes quite a bit of the product to achieve full color. The Gelatos clean up easily and does not linger on brushes. Works well on paper and canvas.

The Texture Lux has a pleasing effect. It applies very with ease and spreads evenly. It works well with the stencils and product stays upon placement. The Texture Lux takes time to dry dependent on thickness. It does not crack or fall off and it works as described. I have purchased other gel mediums before and this is comparable to professional grade materials. Overall this the Texture Lux boosted the rating from a two star to a three.
