To everyone who wants to hate on me for commenting the way I did. Its my comment and my point of view and I have the right to say whatever I want. As far as "not commenting on the product" the GFWL IS PART of the product.
I ordered this and installed it this weekend and I already want to uninstall it and wish I could get my money back. The Windows Live software is as intrusive as Steam's, that being it will eat up your memory running in the background even if you are *not* running the game or plan to. The game interface is clunky and quick to go to Windows Live! menus at the drop of a hat.
The game play has an incredibly clunky feel. It feels linear to the extreme, there's no sense of being able to explore or make anything other than the most basic of choices. For some insane reason, it forces you to keep a key down for several seconds just to interact with NPCs or objects, so you have to wait for a little green circle to complete before it'll give you the very limited choices of interaction, so the game play feels additionally slow.
I thought Dragon Age 2 was dumbed down, but sadly, this is the new winner in disappointment for me. It's not in the least engaging, there's a few attempts at humor which I would appreciate if not for the frustration with the interface and the lack of choices to speak of in interactions.
All in all it feels like a lead you by the nose, click here when we tell you to kind of game, requiring no real thought.
I may try playing it a little further but it's definitely quickly going into the erase completely off my system pile. Windows Live games will be relagated to the same arena as Steam games for me, which is, don't buy, ever. Sadly, this limits greatly what games I'll be buying in the future, but it's clear from the gaming company's trends that they feel their customers don't look for gaming experience or actual challenges in games, which is truly disappointing, especially to a gamer who's been playing games since the original Atari games.
