I was extremely disappointed in this book, given the possibilities for wildly creative and colorful jewelry I expected from Teresa Searle (and which the cover photo led me to believe were inside) based on her fantastic first book, "Heartfelt: 25 Projects for Stitched and Felted Accessories." The projects in her first book more closely mirrored her original style: fabulously colorful creations from felt layered on felt, and stitched in different ways, all in unusual color combinations.

In this book, she has moved into other materials and gives us jewelry made from buttons, crystals, beads, sequins, rickrack, and yarns combined with fabrics such as cottons, chiffons, and silks. I feel that most of the projects are less than inspired (a fabric-wrapped bangle?) and some are all too reminiscent of projects explained in other books (such as fabric-covered buttons, a necklace of threadlace created with dissolvable interfacing, or a knitted chenille flower corsage). Perhaps Teresa Searle has moved into using fabrics other than her signature felt but I just expected more original work from her--jewelry that blazed forth as creative sophistication, not jewelry that looks like it screams "middle school craft fair."

Fantastic book! Would be fun to do some of these project with kids and grand-kids in the summer. Sort of a pick up and put down craft. I think the author should have chosen a better front cover. Her projects inside have excellent pictures, well written directions and a nice list of requirements. These projects cover bracelets, chokers, long fabric bead necklaces, brooches, and the list goes on. Some of the finished projects look a little "ragged" but I can see my two grand-daughters making one of these projects, wearing them proudly on t-shirts and carry the whole thing off like they were going to have tea at the Ritz.

A sewing machine is required in only a handful of projects and those would be a good time for a sewing get-together. All in all, the book is fun, crafty, and uses buttons and fabrics that we all have around the house (or can easily purchase at a garage sale or at Goodwill).

Good book, but I was looking for a little more than cut out flowers. Very simplistic projects for young crafts people.
