I found this show in a hotel room. When I got home I bought all 12 seasons. It's thoroughly entertaining. None of the seasons are repetitious, there's something new every time! If you have a single dollop of creativity, this show will suck you in! I'm looking at things in my house in a whole new way and have decided that my triangle makeup sponges have far more creative uses - Halloween is going to be a blast - heck, maybe I'll try it out tomorrow for 'dress-down-day'. If you think this show is strictly for blood and horror, think again. There's whimsy, fantastic make-ups that should be in the next Star Wars movie...there's something for everyone. I wonder how I could arrange to get into the lab one day and just go crazy....

I have been buying these seasons and watching this show since the beginning. This season was pretty awful, they changed the formula by making 2 competing "shops" which was lop-sided from the get-go. Consequently, they had to switch artists from the other team to "Help" the losing shop. They were not only competitive but bullies at times. It was like going back to the times with that wretched Autumn and other nasties they've had through the seasons. I wish I had watched a couple of episodes before purchasing this one. I went with reputation and ended up with an experiment gone wrong. Will watch 2 shows of the new season and make a decision based on that. Not buying blindly
For me, for the first time in 12 seasons the show has lost it's allure. Not fond of the "Shop format", seems like some of the artists always look to their team mates for ideas. I miss the artists coming up with their own individual concepts.
I understand the concept of the artists bettering themselves by critique's. Seems like in previous seasons, the only way the artists better themselves is through being competitive against each other. The more creative artists are being stifled by giving their time to their teammates.
Seems like this season is an afterthought, in the judges busy lives.
A lot of people have already commented and said this but, the team format isn't so hot, I wanted the individual challenges back and they did away with the spotlight challenges and other elements that were great. I hate to say this but, I skipped past parts of many of these episodes, and I didn't find any of the artists this season to be particularly amazing, several of them were downright horrible. Many episodes, I wasn't wow'ed or impressed by anyone's work. I feel it was a waste of money, the prior seasons of Face Off were so, so much better than this one. Extremely disappointing. They also repeat a lot of material, which bothers me. The quality of the show seems to have dropped.
Love the concept and past seasons of this show. Not such a fan of this season with total GROUP and GROUP ... so unfair to the good artist who gets stuck with a bad group and can't turn it around. I much prefer individual challenges. Has anyone else noticed they are repeating themes? We have aliens, animals, mutants, Face Off needs some new ideas. I still love sweet little Mr Westmore and daughter McKenzie (they could probably just get that body paint show to provide her wardrobe - her clothes look like they are painted on, but she wears them well). Also, note to Amazon, we are waiting 4 days to see the new show. What's with that? I PAY to see this show and expect to see it within 48 hours, like the other shows I purchase on Amazon.
I enjoy this show and own all twelve seasons but I feel they kind of missed the mark this year. The team format isn't working and they need to get back to individual challenges. I also miss the focus and spotlight challenges as well as the relay races.
I don't think we have a Roy, Rayce, or Anthony this year.

We love face off. The talent is amazing and while there is some sniping the competition really concentrates on the talent, imagination and outcome of the artists. We cut the cable cord and this is the only show we actually buy so we can own the episodes.
Mr Westmore is amazing in his knowledge and mentoring, I wish they showed him interacting with the contestants more.
The judges critiques are spot on. I have learned so much about special effects and beauty makeup in the 12 season I've watched this. The only season I didn't care for was when contestants came back as mentors.
This was a wonderful season. I was cheering for all the finalists and the best person did win.
I and my daughter usually can't wait for the next episode. Today's being possessed episode was just terrible across the board. We thought no one really deserved to win. Each week either the challenges are too hard for this group or they are just a bad group of people that got picked for this season. Previous seasons I would def recommend this one I own as well on Amazon but will not take the time to re-watch when its all said and done.
