I couldn't wait to download this book after seeing Scott on TV. The problem is it doesn't give any real tips or instructions on actually applying makeup. It mostly name drops about the stars and looks he has created. Not helpful for creating your own look.

This book, more than anything else, was annoying to read. If you're looking for actual, step-by-step instructions on how to achieve different looks, this is not the book to read. It offered, to me, very little information that I could use in my everyday routine. If you're looking for a book filled with "I know Kim, I know Paris, I know Raquel, - and this was how I thought she would look in my current fantasy".... then a high fashion photo, followed by the celebrity's ode to how much SHE admired and loved HIM (the makeup artist) - after the third celebrity, I lost interest. They all looked and sounded the same, with very little to offer to your every day look, other than some common sense stuff you can get on You tube, but without all the drama. Actually, I wish I had spent the time I wasted on this book ( not to mention the money) watching a few makeup tutorials instead of this "I'll stroke your ego, then you can stroke mine" self-indulgent bore of a book. I would have learned more. My two word summary? Don't bother.

Reading, reading, and more reading!!!! no "how to" pictures, or before the cleberities had make up to after photos. Its mostly about how Scott Barnes met the cleberities and what he thinks of them. Which has nothing to do with how to "get the look". Doesnt show you step by step, I mean who wants to READ how to put on makeup WHILE PUTING ON MAKE UP???!!! The ony photos he has are transforming pictures, which by the way you can't wear unless you're wearing a costume or it's holloween. Was totally taken by all the "good" reviews, when really its a complete waste. Would not reconmmend

There are not step-by step instructions in this, only product lists and vague suggestions. The book seems to be primarily an excuse for Scott Barnes to show off his connections to famous women.

Vanessa Williams is made up in blackface in the transformations sections, and a trans woman is "taken back to her time as a man". I've never come across a more ignorant or offensive book on makeup.

This is a beautiful coffee table book and reference guide. There are lovely color photos showing beautiful transformations. Its not as good as Kevyn Aucoin, but still a nice book to have. There are some celebs featured and decent instruction of the techniques used. For true beginners I recommend Robert Jones, but this is good for mid level expertise and higher. There are a lot of celeb quotes praising the author which is a bit much. But over all good book

Opinion same as title. I was looking for a book that would teach me how to obtain certain looks. This is not graphic enough.

First book was great for tips and how to pointers, but this one was more or less of a look book. Great pictures, but otherwise not as useful.
