With the help of easy to read charts and lists, Dr. Cederquist explains so clearly concepts such as complex carbohydrates, trans fats, and all the places sugars are hiding. The action plan section is laid out to show not only what to eat or not eat, but why. Unlike many books with daily nutritional plans included, this one is crystal clear, with each meal option for the three meals of the day illustrated in colorful boxes with clearly defined foods and quantities. And the EATS (Essential and Tasty Snacks) section includes great protein choices. There is no confusion in this book about how to follow the action plan schedule of reclaim days, transformation days, and stabilization days. And the recipes look fantastic!
The most invaluable piece for me to start right away was the section on vitamins and supplements. After asking my doctors for years with conflicting answers or no clear answers at all, I had literally given up and just started taking a multivitamin and hoping for the best. Dr. Cederquist discusses each vitamin she recommends throughly - what it does for you, why you need it, and the recommended dose.

It might be fine if you don't have kids, but the meals are not foods you can feed your family. Plan on making two dinners, one for your kids and one for yourself.
The recipes are unappealing. The snack section has TWO recipes . Want to eat the same stuff week after week? Nutrisystem would be a lot easier.
And the last "chapter" says see your doctor and take metformin. I'll pass.
