I've used it on wood, sheetrock, concrete walls, tile, and vinyl siding and all I've ever needed is the battery operated vacuum to get it to "stick" to the surface. It levels easily, adjusts easily, and it comes in a very nice little carrying case with room for some extra items like markers and pencils.
Try it. I betcha like it.
Mine had dirty fingerprints on it and food stains in the cloth case. when I lifted it out the battery compartment cover was off and the EXPLODED BATTERIES were exposed. See the picture. I think Inspector # 7, should be fired. Wiping it off and removing the batteries should have been maybe the first part of the recondition process. Jeez Amazon has become Ebay.
Smaller scale stuff like hanging picture frames or single shelves are much easier w/ this. The suction cup, w/ or w/o the textured wall pad attachment, works better than I initially believed it could ever work BUT firmly hold/push the device to the surface to insure it grips BEFORE you let go, obvious but easily taken for granted as I did. The amount of accessories and the nice case included w/ this + the laser for $20 is a steal. An easy to operate device that makes doing simple things even easier, for the money it's a no-brainer for someone that's always working on the homestead.

Laser level worked really well. Stuck to our painted wall with no problems. I used alkaline batteries because they are more powerful. Read morePublished 6 months ago by j5hertzler
it makes a noise, won't stick to painted surface and the line is not straight. Garbage, may as well burnt the money.Published 8 months ago by John Milliron
