Top Customer Reviews
I bought this to install light rails and crown molding in the kitchen. It comes with 1.25" brad nails. I also bought a variety of brad nail sizes with it, but it turns out for my purposes I only needed the 1.25" size. It had no blemishes. Being oil free is WONDERFUL.
It is lightweight and quiet. Does not appear to use much air, and my 1.5 gal tank/pump is WAY more than it needs. I set mine at 120 lb and at this setting the nails usually go just under the surface. You don't want them to go too deep. Of course, thickness and hardness drive this so you may need a different setting. BTW, you will NOT be pulling out any of these nails. For a mistake, just cut off the sharp end after ensuring the head end is at or below the surface. People won't notice.
I'll now go forward and install crown molding in other rooms of the house.
There is only ONE small negative. The safety lockout next to the nail exit point, there to ensure you are against a surface and to prevent you from shooting a nail into the air, has a slippery pad. I found it took a steady hand in some circumstances to keep it from slipping off target. Remember, with crown molding you are like as not sending a nail thru a curved piece of wood.
Changing from 4 to 5 stars because the brad nailer functions Flawlessly. Very few jams and easy to clear.
Original review below.
Lightweight is important, it had a rotating "belt hook" and a "swivel" fast connect air fitting. Just the things to have if working on step ladders nailing overhead.
The vendor (CPO outlet) is an authorized Ridgid tool outlet and was a major factor in where to buy,, plus the price was right and Amazon FREE shipping.
This tool will be used to install 1/4" tongue and groove pine ceilings in South America. Holding a light weight nailer above your head has got to be a big improvement over a hammer/brads and probably much easier on fingers.
The tool came with a "cute" fabric case, 1-1/4 brads, manual and brad/nail/staple sizing chart for Ridgid tools.
All items appeared NEW. Opened the "jammed" brad chute and the tool appeared to have never been used. Purchasing a Reconditioned tool that appears NEW makes the deal even better.
Have used Ridgid tools for several years and if this tool performs as well as my other tools then I'll be a "happy camper" because the probability of a Ridgid tool service center being in Colombia seems low.
I'm giving a 4 star because I have not used it yet,, except to verify it functioned correctly. I'll note my findings after a month or so of use.
