Their scenes together are so full of love, sweetness, and an intense chemistry. Cal can be a sweetheart, but his sexiness is always there. He shows her at every possible moment, how much he wants and treasures her. You can't help, but fall in love with him. The HONEY scene is definitely one of the hottest and sexiest I've read. Jane and Cal sure zinged eyebrows with that one.
Cassidy, James, and Paul are still involved in that love triangle that gives me heartburn. There were times when I wanted to knock some sense into James, but I still love that man. Paul does prove that he cares for Cassidy and although I appreciate it, I hope James gets his act together in the next book because that Epilogue left me with my mouth open.
J.M. Witt continues to give us an amazing story in each book of her Anchored Hearts series. Not once does she disappoint. I.NEED.MORE!!!
When new drama, angst and scenes happen, it's good.
This series has the potential to be great if something could be done about the repetition.
I read this through the KU program.
The story has good bones. Sadly that's about all I can say. The inconsistent interruptions in POV changes didn't happen in any form or fashion. Witt rarely changed POV by starting a new chapter. The two main MCs sound rather the same down to cadence of tone.
The upside is the book starts at the end of some big bad event. The MC man, Cal, is in the hospital recovering from injuries while the MC female, Jane is battling guilt and the possible chance of never telling Cal how she feels.
The SOB who did the deed is alive but in the hospital. Even with a guard, he gets killed. Now it's a race to see who did it before someone innocent goes to jail. Was it Cal or Jan? Was it her cousin? Her fellow nurse and friend? Was it Cal's friends in the Police Department?
Would I recommend the book, yes. Would I say it's worth of a 4 or 5 star, no. I have worked on Fading Away for two weeks. I didn't feel a connection, and that has nothing to do with starting in the middle of the action. Fading Away has good potential, but a content editor would have gave this a great push.
The Anchored Hearts series by J.M Witt is that Series for me.
J.M throws twists and turns at you at EVERY blink. The Love between Cal and Jane is impenetrable. Jane's past is still threatening to ruin that happiness, but Cal will do anything to make certain that doesn't happen.
Follow the conclusion of Cal and Jane's story and see if they can finally make it to their Happily ever after........... Or is it NOT meant to be?
Will the past ruin EVERYTHING? Will Love conquer ALL? Will James and Cassidy learn to get past their issues or will EVERYTHING be destroyed?
EEEEEEEEEEP!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES, LOVE J.M Witt and her writing style! She's not afraid to step out of the norm. And she most DEFINITELY isn't afraid of a cliffhanger!!
