I mean waking up to go and bake your cupcakes and finding a dead man sitting at one of your tables ready for tea. That is the start of the strange things that happen poor Luna. To just add to the chaos of her life. In walks Devin Randford , he sends her heart racing and thinking of naughty naughty thoughts running around her mind. As for every good thing that is happening the bad must follow . Luna's ex husband Thomas is slinking back into her life trying to take control of her business and just making her life a living hell. As the murders mount and the blackmail ensues. Who does Luna have to lean against. Devin is there and ready willing and able to do more for her then just build her office. Hehehehehehehe. Will they survive and will they realize that they love each other . You will have to read to find out
I loved this book cause it is a nice light read . Trust me you can't go wrong with tea, cupcakes , and a little mystery. Oh yeah and fairies. I so want a place like FAIRIE CAKE JUNCTION, I would be there everyday . The characters were well written and you felt like you were sitting in the tea shop . Listening to the conversations that are going on all around you. This would be a good easy summer read for those lazy summer days , where you just want to lie out in the hammock and read the day away .
We have Luna running her cupcake, tea and gift shop. First there is a dead body found in the shop and then Luna is attacked on her back porch. And the hits just keep on coming.
The mystery is rather light, but the book is supposed to be light. Luna has a problem with her threatening former husband. To the rescue comes Luna's knight in a tool belt. Devan is a nice widower who wants to help solve the problems that appear to be arising every day.
During all this, we have faeries who come and give information to Luna. She is thought to be crazy because she admits to being friends with faeries.
There is murder, blackmail, theft, assault and romance. The plot is good and the characterizations are good. Overall, this is a nice book. It is a quick read and the main characters are generally people you would like to get to know.
There are improbabilities.....and I do not include the faeries and pixies as improbable. But, if you like a light mystery, this is the book for you.
A really good read, leaving me wondering on all of the "whodunit" participants right to the end of the story. Add in a few Faeries, a handful of Pyxies, and an overweight tomcat who's hunting instinct is only hampered by his hefty haunches, the story combines love, life, renewal and friendship into a nice package, topped with frosted concoctions of tasty goodness, and endless glimpses into the faith of belief, belief in ancient creatures that never wanes, and is only solidified as the story moves forward through 2 deaths, a kidnapping and endless speculation.
It is time for me to find the rest of this series and read those
My only downside minor spoiler.
The two love interest fall awful quickly. Other than that spectacular.
