Ariel Marie does not disappoint, while I love her vampire books with lots of action and darkness, this one is just as good with a lighter feel to it. But don’t get me wrong, there is still action and alpha males doing their thing. Plus a strong willed princess who kicks some major *ss.
I’m not going to summarize the book for you, that’s what the blurb’s for, but here is what you need to know. Noelle is an amazing character and elegant princess, I love Ryo wish he was under my tree this Christmas, and Marric... where can I get one. Add in the sweet legend of the Faery’s kiss and enjoy. ;)
One click this baby for one a wonderful holiday read that will leave you with holiday feels.
Noelle will be turning thirty on December 25th. To honor the tradition of her people her parents, the king and Queen of Faery, are holding a tournament to celebrate. The male who wins the tournament also wins the hand of the princess Noelle.
Ryo was chosen to represent his family in the tournament. He is the biggest and strongest warrior of his people. From the moment he lays eyes on Noelle, he feels pulled to her.
A chance meeting in the forest makes them realize the legends are true. Now it more important then ever for Ryo to win.
There is danger lurking and stiff competition from one of the other warriors in the tournament.
I don't get to read Fae books as often as I like, so I was happy to give this book a go. It didn't disappoint.
Noelle is a strong independent female character. She's not afraid to go after what she wants but she also knows when to compromise for the good of her people. Ryo is the same way. He knows he's a strong warrior and when he sees Noelle, he knows she's the one for him. No questions asked.
The description of Faery made me feel like I had visited there before. You could almost feel the cold winds and snow, see the castle and surrounding forest, hear the excitement of the crowd as you read it.
I don't always like insta-love in books but this one was written very well. The chemistry between Noelle and Ryo was H-O-T!
So if you love sexy Faery's, action, some steamy romance, with a little bit of danger added to the mix, then you'll love this book.
There's a tournament to win the hand of the Princess of Faery. All of the warriors from the land come to compete in the tournament, the last "man" standing gets the spoils, right? Well ... kind of. This is a super well written love story that actually puts you IN the book as you read it. You're at the tournament watching them archers, following them through the obstacle course, and in the forest with Noelle.
I love that while I was reading it that it was so well described that I could actually see it as it happened. The two main Faerys to win the princess' hand is Ryo and Jandar. I'm not gonna lie; I loved Jandar, but when you read this you'll know why. (It's a Yolanda thing.)
I think my favorite thing is that they are equal in skill so you're honestly left wondering who's going to win this whole thing.
And the end? Never would I have seen that coming.
Definitely a five star read for me!
Noelle isn't to happy with her husband being determined by a tournament, esp since the winner will be hers for a thousand years. But sometimes fate always win, and you find love in the most weirdest ways. An old fairy tale, a kiss will tell a faery who their true love is it real or just something to tell the kids?
