Never Roll Your Sleeping Bag Again
TETON Sports provides a durable compression sack for stuffing your sleeping bag into. No need to roll it up and fight to get it in the sack. Simply start at the bottom and stuff the bag in (see our instructional videos).
The Mammoth is a survival rated sleeping bag. When considering comfort, think 20-30 degrees higher. As you know you will sleep warmer if you use a camp pad, wear a hat, stay hydrated, wear socks, and fluff your sleeping bag before you go to bed to restore its loft.
The Mummy Hood keeps your pillow clean and your head warm.
High-quality zippers are taped to last the life of the sleeping bag.
Added padding around the shoulder and along the zipper keep the warm air in.
Heavy-duty compression sack comes with your Mammoth Sleeping Bag. Remember it's best to stuff the bag in instead of rolling it up first.

The inner fabric feels really nice against your skin. Some sleeping bags have a fabric that just makes you hot and sweaty but this one keeps you plenty warm without getting sweaty. The zippers seem to be really nice and heavy duty and should last a long time. It was very comfortable to sleep in next to my wife.
Now that stupid bag you have to shove this into when you are done is a complete joke... It takes two people with all their might to roll it up small enough to attempt to fit it in. In reality it is never in there good enough, is always lumpy and in balanced, and is entirely frustrating. When I get a chance to buy a larger bag of some sort for it I'll jump on the opportunity.
But, even with the terrible bag design, the sleeping bag itself is really great and I'd recommend it.
Cozy. Warm. Spacious. He zips it down and gets his cool air, keeping my warmth in.
However BUYER BEWARE: the compression bag is misleading. Pulling the sleeping bag out it lovely.
Watching it gain its fluff is fun. Sleeping in it for a week is great.
Dear lord putting it back might cause a fight or two.
Just shove that bad boy in an empty cooler and buy a biggger bag. Seriously, it’s not going to go back in the bag it came in UNLESS you happen to have a fancy machine to compress the air out of it.
It came in a decent bag with great straps to sinch it down. It was a little heavy for activities like backpacking, but that makes sense in a king size sleeping bag.
I like how all 3 sides have zippers, and while it wasn't tested, you could make two blankets or maybe even 2 sleeping bags out of this. And having the top head area slightly longer, made holding pillows easier.
While it was the king size, it was about 2 inches smaller on each side compared to my king air mattress. While big enough for me, if you truly need king size, this might not work. The velcro at the top of each zipper was strong and great, however my son's sweaters got stuck in it in the night.
And at high 40's- low 50's, wearing long pants and sweatshirts and socks, plus another king sized blanket inside the bag, I don't think this is good for freezing temperatures. If you have it in your mind you will need more and do more to make it work then get this. Otherwise it kept us just warm enough.
What it lacked in insulating power it made up for in comfort. The cotton liner was supremely comfortable and lovely to wake up to. It had gobs of leg room and elbow room for us both. I'm sure we could have tried to use a more technical dual sleeping bag system for more money that would perform better but wouldn't be as roomy and comfy for two people.
One thing I noticed, however, is that you both have to sleep at the same head-level to maximize comfort. I'm 1.9M tall and my wife is 1.7M; she slept a lot lower on the mattress than I so I had a hard time pulling the covers up to my neck unless I shimmied down the mattress until my feet were hanging off. Something to keep in mind.
Some reviews said they had trouble getting it back in the stuff sack. Curiously, I've experienced both ends of the spectrum. I re-stuffed it with ease one time but the next I fought it the whole way and it didn't stuff well at all, in the end.

This solved my problems and allows us to get a comfy sleep. If she is not there will the dog even likes to come up and cuddle under the blanket as there is enough room.
No a lite bag by anymeans, definitely a car camper here.
Only negatives: its very 'slippery' on the outside. We found that the bag tended to slip off the air mattress very easily during the night, often finding our feet far off the end of the mattress and an arms length of mattress above our heads of unutilized space. Next time I'll probably use a non-slip pad like found under an area rug to keep the bag in place. Other negative: the drawstring pouch. It's fairly sizeable and can be uncomfortable to sleep on as it runs the entire length of the bag on the bottom and top. All things considered I was happy to be warm and that won out over all the negatives. No multiple layers of clothes required. A shirt with sleeves and a toque was all I needed for the areas I still had out and exposed.
I really do wish the bag it came in was larger. It's dang near impossible to fit back in. I'm also blown away by how heavy this thing is. Holy cow. It's heavy for a bag.
The shoulder baffles are nice, the neck cinches are nice to keep it closer to you. You can zip it apart and make two sleeping bags out of it, or have two separate blankets. There's a bunch of details in the bag that help set it apart from just being two heavy blankets.
So, all in all, it makes for some really really cosy camping nights, and drive-in movies are a lot more comfortable in the back of the truck! It's what I wanted, just a couple things would be nice to see improved upon later on.
The only thing you gotta be careful of though is how big this thing is, even when it's in it's compression bag. Literally the size of a grown adult stuffed in a size appropriate duffel bag, and easily the weight of a full turkey from Save Ons.
