About the Author
The oldest of six children born in seven years, Ellen Gibran-Hesse was so much her siblings' surrogate mother that when she went off to college, her parents blamed her for the family's subsequent deterioration. Ellen obtained a B.S. in psychology, worked for 10 years in nursing, practiced law for 12 years while raising her sons, volunteered with young people and studied child development. Ellen now has two college age sons, as well as two adopted young adults, one of whom was abandoned with her at 19 without a job or life skills to live on his own. Within 6 months, she had helped him to obtain a driver's license, job, car, and a place of his own to live. With this book, Ellen shares her parenting insights and coaching experiences so that all may enjoy the warm and rewarding relationships we want with our children.
