Dillman fuses her knowledge of pre-Raphaelite art and Japanese anime with her passion for the world of fairies, mermaids, and angels. She briefly covers the tools and materials of watercolor and then teaches a variety of effects, from dreamy to abstract. For select readers. -- Library Journal, July 2009

I've often found that the best books on watercolor technique aren't the generic ones, but ones concerning a certain subject. Meredith's technique is soft, subtle and rich, a type not usually represented in the average watercolor book. Best of all, she isn't imposing her style onto the reader, but offers a jumping off point. How-to art books so very often merely show how to paint like the author, very rarely does one come along that teaches inspiration and how to find it in practical ways.
Even if an artist is not quite up to Meredith's drawing ability, this book is worth going through for its ideas and techniques. This is especially good for aspiring young artists.
