Since Amber Johnson felt deprived in several areas while growing up, she married a man with much wealth and they enjoyed living a lavish lifestyle. But all that changed when she learned their future together had turned bleak. There is also the problem of threats from people who are not happy with her husband’s business dealings. Now Amber is getting a divorce and moving from an island paradise to Colorado, where she can hopefully learn to make it on her own and not depend on others. This is definitely no time to be in another relationship, even when there is a man residing near her whom has grabbed her full attention.
When Amber vowed that she would make much better choices from here on out, she certainly was not planning to get involved with someone rich again. While Jake Kassidy, a successful rancher, made a lasting impression on her when she saw him in town, he will only star in her fantasies and not any real situations. Though both Amber and Jake feel a powerful longing to each other, their pasts may keep them apart.
Desire keeps mounting along with plenty of complex emotional issues in THE FAIRY TALE GIRL. Ann Major definitely gave Jake and Amber a long list of obstacles to overcome before they could ever be together, and I ached right along with this couple when things went terribly wrong. So many unpredictable situations keep cropping up in the story, causing the relationship of these two individuals to hit a snag. There were times when I could not see a good solution to a setback, and the author kept me wondering if Jake and Amber could actually work out their differences. Theirs is a connection which is filled with numerous challenges, and I never knew if their passion for one another could eliminate the hardships they faced.
Ann Major let me experience many of the moments right along with the characters because of detailed descriptions, and I got to visit a tropical island along with the rugged Colorado terrain. There are a few suspenseful incidents in THE FAIRY TALE GIRL, and I anxiously kept reading to learn the outcome. I am glad Ms. Major is making her older releases available once again, in case I missed one.
I voluntarily reviewed the book and all comments are my honest opinion
I received a copy of this book but all opinions are my own. This review is my honest opinion and freely given.
This story is about Amber a divorcee with a debt from her previous husband, that can harm her lively hood. Amber moves in with her half brother Hamlin and his wife Serena. She is working hard to pay back the debt her ex holds and is afraid to love again. In walks Jake the next door sexy and handsome nieghbor. He throws a wrench in her life that messes up her no love plan. But Jake has secrets of his own and they involve her sister in law Serena. Can Amber and Jake work everything out and fall in love?
I really did love the story. The characters had a lot of depth and good backgrounds. The story did not feel rushed as some romance books do. Ann takes her time creating the story and telling it, though some of the scenes were way to descriptive for my preference. I tend to lose focus when this happens. She tells it as if you are watching a movie. Maybe that is why it has such descriptive scenes, so that you can imagine the scene as she sees it in her eyes. I recommend this book to those who seek romance and mystery. Happy reading.
Amber Johnson grew up poor and feeling unloved by her mom.
So she ended up marry at an early age to a rich husband who pampered her and protected her. But soon things fell apart as he soon lost all his money and had people after him. She learns to be independent as she started her own jewelry business after her divorce.
She meets another rich guy Jake Kassidy who sweeps her off her feet. At first, she tries to stay away from him as she hides her past but that does not last long. The two fall for each other and get marry but will it last long before she runs away from him when her past comes crashing down?
Will love survive this time around?
