This is a well told story of a young woman returning to her grandfather's home in the Highlands after the death of her parents. You learn about whiskey distillery operations, falconry, and the social interactions of the Highlands a hundred years ago. The story evolves into a bit of a mystery with a dramatic ending. Very satisfying.

This was a good read. I had one plot twist figured out pretty early, but the final twist was a total surprise. Usually Agatha Christie is the only one who can do that to me.

Families can be so complicated and the way we cope with everything has such a long range affect on others. Yet it is so difficult to overcome some of our own weaknesses to be able to help and consider the affect our actions have on those we love most, as this story shows so well.

I knew I would like this novel, and could not find it locally. I wish only the description had bee more detailed of the books condition/layout. The book is in adequate condition for the price, but if had known how small of print it was I would likely not have purchased this copy.

I loved this book. Great well told story. Very good character development. It was one of those books you hate to see end. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.
