I too am honored to be a part of Rachel's team. I devoured this book; I read it from start to finish in one sitting but had to wait to write my review until my brain and heart processed all that happened.

Bottom line - Rachel is a writing genius! This book, oh this book...twists and turns, shock and awe, romance and defiance, heartbreak and truth - it has it all! Ryder (oh, how I love Ryder), Smith, all of Ivy's allies/friends will make you cheer while the villains will make you cringe/shutter/sit breathless in fear. I thoroughly loved every word and despite the fact that I now need a support group I'm telling you that this series is worth every penny! I promise you will love it! Now I just have to be patient and wait to see that The Heart has in store for us!

I loved the Rush but the Fall was a whole different story! Paranormal stories usually deal with vampires, werewolves, witches so a series based on sirens is already a unique find. This story follows Ivy a siren who wants anything but to follow in the family business. She wants a life with love a life she is in control of but that isn't written in the stars for her. She will have to fight the fates her god father and watch her life and friends fall apart around her. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster!! My only problem is having to wait until NOVEMBER to find out what happens next!

OK, WOW. The last half of this book just blew me away. And thus has made it sooooo hard to decide how to rate it. B/C the run to the end was solid 5 stars for me. But my problem comes in that for giant chunks of the first half, I was kind of bored. I think it was a personal taste thing. There's a lot of time spent in Ivy's head while she describes her emptiness, or her love, or her rage, or well, just about everything. But it got to be too much for me, and a bit repetitive, so it kind of lost its magic there. I think I was kind of influenced too b/c on a re-read of The Rush I felt the same thing (lots of beautiful prose, but that's never been a huge draw for me in writing, especially if it feels repetitive). But I have to caution readers that feel similarly to me -- KEEP READING!!! B/C once it picks up, OMG you will be so glad you hung on for the ride.

I love how the story picks up a quite a few months after The Rush. In other series that might have bothered me, but I felt it was all very seamless and didn't feel that I missed out on anything, just got to advance to the next big hurrah kind of thing....if that makes sense. And seeing the "platonic like" (yeah right) friendship that had developed between Ivy and Ryder was just dream come true territory. They have SUCH amazing chemistry, and while Ivy's struggles over whether she can't live without him, or if she's a horrible influence on him got to be kind of tiring, I *really* felt their connection in this book so that balanced it off. It was so nice to be given so many moments of pure happy to balance all the crap going on in Ivy's life.

There is a LOT more paranormal in this book than The Rush, and I really LOVED all the little tidbits of Greek mythology that was mixed in. And so many of them were a huge surprise.

Enjoyed the two books but I am not much into a cliffhanger ending. Both books so far is about the underdog getting beaten. I wasn't happy about not seeing too much of Ivy's siren power. So far she only sang once and some white lights that was useless in defending herself. I gave this 3 stars because I got tired of her be beaten down through out both books and how she was powerless. It got a bit repetitive on how much she talked about how Ryder makes her feels. Also, I wish Ryder was able to escape with her. Overall, the story line is engaging and it pulls you in. I just felt that the ending could have been more of the potential of Ivy being able to kick butt. I recommend this series but expect the bad guys being on top all throughout the first two books. Book two would've been awesome if Ivy had more power and Ryder having power too. I jus felt like Ivy was portrayed as weak in that she can protect herself. Too wimpy forme. I will read the next book though because of the captivating storyline.
