Leela James Returns Falling For You her best Album of her Career. She may be known for Singing a Tribute Album to the Late Etta James but this New Album will have Fans wanting more. I bought this Album yesterday at Best Buy in Columbus, OH. when I got home last night after 10PM I played this Album over and over and over again I love it. it's very Funky and Soulful with a Blend of Hip Hop Beats. opening the Album with her song "Who's Gonna Love You More" is a Funky Song a Great way to open the album and it's very upbeat and her voice is reminds me of Tina Turner. her Chart Topping Smash "Say That" Featuirng Anthony Hamilton is a Classic Old School Song that talks being Vulernable and in honest about him or her wants in a Relationship. The Album Titled "Fall For You" it's a Beautiful love song and Leela brings the Fire with her New Album.
Standout Tracks
"Who's Gonna Love You More"
"Say That" Featuring Anthony Hamilton.
"Give It" Very Raw and Sexual Upbeat Classic.
"Do Me Right" Leela is being very Vulernable and Honest about treating her right in the Bedroom.
"Set Me Free" My Favorite Song and it's very Upbeat Classic Joint.
"So Good" now we getting into some Old School with some Hip Hop Elements.
"Saved Me" Another Old School Sound with Hip Hop Flava.
I swear to people if you are a Fan of Old School R&B and Soul with some Hip Hop and Jazz. Leela is the Bomb.com I really don't think of her as a Jazz Artist. I think she mixxed her music with other Generes to make it sound Good for her Audience. I'm really impressed with this Album A must have for any Soulful R&B Collection. What a Surprised CD for the Summer 2014.

After being so impressed with her Loving You More in the Spirit of Etta James tribute album, why would I be at all surprised that a Leela James album would be a strong one? While I always deeply respected Leela's tough minded stance she took as meaningful soul/funk sister who sought to pump the groove into the more vapid end of modern R&B? Sometimes she not only came on a little strongly, but there was also a mild flatness about her music that made it all sound just a little unfinished. Its a quality that I also observe in like minded artists such as Angie Stone as well. And in fact, upon previewing the songs for this Leela's fourth studio album? I felt that some of my concerns were merited because it sounded like more of the same. Of course its impossible to tell if music sounds complete from...incomplete snippets. So I figured the only way to find out was to pick up the CD and give it a try for myself. I was pleasantly in fact pleasantly surprised.

"Who's Gonna Love You More" opens the album with a tough grooving flavor that blends together a rollicking Curtis Mayfield type groove with a Minneapolis/Prince flavored spiky synthesizer harmony. "Say That",with it's melodic jazzy guitar and slick sonics, featuring Leela singing along with Anthony Hamilton-one of the best vocal pairings I can imagine since both share the same gospel drenched, throaty timbre. "Give It" goes fully wah-wah powered funk while "Do Me Right" adds a thudding, bassy rhythm for an excellent take on a "nu funk" type of sound while "Everything" is a climactic, cinematic, string powered soul ballad. "So Good" is a lightly reggae tinged, mildly hip-hop inflected groove.

"So Good" is the title of my favorite song on this album. I saw her for the first time on Vevo in the black & white video of "Fall for you" a piano ballad that gave me chills. Check it out! I could not wait for the album. And boy, this album delivers. Great music, beautiful lyrics and an outstanding voice. She sings about love and relationship. She is strong and sings for our soul. No unnecessary frills, only 2 guests appearances from the great Anthony Hamilton for "Say That" and Joe Ryan for "Save me" the last song and arguably the best. Special mention for "Do me right" and "Set me free". No filler, 10 solid songs, a grammy worthy opus. Groove blues at its best.

Been a fan for years! and all of her music makes a statement even her remakes are made unique because of her voice. There is no mistaking who we are hearing. While all her previous music is good, This CD is Great from start to finish, everyday I have a new favorite on repeat especially Do Me Right! Looking forward to having her perform here. I'm sure she sounds just as good live.

I love every song on this CD. There are no fillers. My favorite is "Do Me Right". Leela is coming from the heart and this project is the complete package. She has finally arrived, showing her full potential. She has the right producers for this project. I love the arrangements of the songs and her strong vocals really come thru. There is not a more soulful album out there this year. In my opinion, this project secures her first Grammy nomination. I think more people will be falling for Leela.
