Love and Music in Texas #4
Kyra Sanders had an awesome career in country music for all her teen years. There was a horrible accident that left her for sure shock up. She does not remember driving and yet the medics pulled her from the driver’s seat. The band was with her and a good friend of hers boyfriend died.
Kyra took some time off since she was devastated. She was afraid of crowds, got hate mail and phone calls and text messages. She sat in her apartment writing lyrics and composing songs and they were from her heart.
She was starting to feel she could make a return to the stage when she got a phone call regarding her parents.
Matt Greer is working in his auto shop and taking care of his 14 year old son, Andrew. His ex-wife abandons him and son to pursue her musical dream. She did not want a marriage and baby in the first place but found herself pregnant and Matt stepped up to the plate as a responsible male.
Matt met Kyra and she surprised him to find out how different she was then his ex-wife Kendra. But why does it seem he is getting drawn to her when he should not be.
Kyra missed so much from her youth including school dances and such. She knew her parents gave up so much for her and her sister Amy and her brother David too. Kyra cut herself off from friends and family after the accident. But when that phone call came about her parents she quickly put her life on hold and rushed home.
Could Matt and Kyra have a good life together and make a home for Andrew. Matt already knew and loved her family. He realized that not each musician is that same and have to same dreams.
During this second chapter of her life, Kyra meets Matt Greer, a man who wants to avoid a relationship with a musician. The music industry has impacted his life and that of his son.
I can’t tell you anymore without spoiling the book for you. It is well written, with plot twists, and lots of emotional ups and downs.
I haven’t read the first three books in this amazing series. This book stands alone, but now I’m curious about the rest!
This is the first book of Nikki Lynn Barrett's that I have read but it will not be the last.
Loved the family angles too. All characters seemed real and had different secrets. Loved the fact that it took time for things to work out. The last chapter did not tie things together in a few sentences and all roses which I hate. The ending was happy but open ended so you hoped things worked out and made you smile at the possibilities.
