No matter what you call it, if it sucks blood, it is a vampire. But Cade is a vampire that was charged to protect humans from the dangerous world of Fallen. Although the story line is nothing new, the characters and the careful planning helps establish a unique combination that manages to keep me interested.
First we have Cade, a mess of a man, someone riddled with guilt and self- loathing after what had happened to his first wife back in 1729. When he met Emma, a beautiful person inside and out, his protective streak comes flaring back. This causes some conflict and it was fun to read, the supportive characters were there to cause more trouble.
In the end, Fallen Redemption is not just a story about good versus evil or the fight to protect mankind from evils of Apollyon's Fallen. This is a story about love and forgiveness, and how a person's trust can change course of things.
A lovely start to the Fallen series.
Lots of romance and lots of action.
The story begins with Cade and his back story of tragedy that creates the honorable crusader he is. When he meets Emma, who has just lost her job as an art teacher, she is attacked by an evil group called The Fallen.
Cade and Emma are great characters, well rounded and very believable.
The twist in the story is a great concept and the rules of good and evil are definitely blurred. The end could have been less of a cliffhanger. I will be looking for the sequel to find out some unanswered questions.
Being a romance novel it was a bit predictable, but that only made it more endearing. Loved the use of words only used by the members of the groups. Nice touch.
As a SciFi lover, I wanted more about the Fallen and Cade's group, the Behnshma, but still an excellent concept and a book worth reading.
With thanks to Lilac Reviews.
“You don’t have to hide them from me,” she said quietly. “I’ve been around scars for most of my life.”
“I’ve learned some need to save themselves, while others need to open their hearts for saving.”
“You’re a kind and decent man. How many lives have you saved by what you do every night?” “It’s as it should be. I’ve a penance.” “No what you have is a shield,”
“You’re my bahshrett and I’m yours.” “I’m yours,” she whispered. “Always.”
“My son. Do you not consider that I want you to be happy? To me you’re my son in every shape of the word and I want the best for you.”
I can never get enough of the good vs evil paranormal books! This one was fabulous! It had everything I love and more. I loved the names for all different types of characters. It was a beautiful and frightening story.
Imagine losing your family because of a choice you made then spend hundreds of years blaming yourself. Barely living because of the guilt. That's the way Cade choose to live his life.
A long time ago a Elias (Behnshma) came to Cade when he was dying of small pox and offered him something, needed something from him. He wanted him to fight against Apollyon. Cade said yes but had to go see his family. He knew they were gone but he had to see. When he was there his wife was not all the way gone yet and when he smelled her blood the monster in him woke up and killed her.
That was over 200 years ago. He's been fighting the Fallen barely living.
Emma just lost her job and is drinking her worries away on the way home she decides to take a short cut and she interrupts a Fallen killing some humans for the soul. Right when one of the Fallen is sucking out her soul she feels the Fallen being pulled away from her. After seeing something she couldn't comprehend she passes out. When she wakes up she's not home, when the lights come on she sees a yummy man staring at her.
He's kidnapped her right? She can't shake the feeling she's having for Cade.
Could she be his bahshrett?
This is a great book about forgiveness, love, and fighting evil. I'm hoping the author makes this a series I would love to know more about these SEXY Trihune. It's a great book!
