Tedious and irritating

I force myself to finish every book I start: this one was a challenge. It was unnecessarily complex and filled with characters with unlikable qualities. I had no sympathy or empathy for anyone of the characters. First time I ever felt that every character in a book deserved all the bad things that happened to them. Reading all the "begats" in the Old Testament would have been more enjoyable.
